The problem is you have to get a couple of hundred of your closest friends to go every night to keep a place open. We all see how hard it is to keep a business open in the city. Businesses go where there is a vacuum, but needs a consistent audience.

i'm not trying to be mean about it, it's been tried, and those are some of the real big reasons why. People from the country don't want to try to come into the city on a weekend night enough to keep a place open. It has been tried and failed quite a few times.

Plus they all swore never to come into Richmond again when we tore the monuments down, I would think they were sticking to that.

Wandered into Botanya the other night. Wine was good and so was our app, but it's definitely priced at a "special occasion" price point. The built in 18% tip was a surprise too. Very pretty inside, but being next door to an emergency vet can lead to some emotionally harrowing scenery outside.

Tried Bar West. Vibes were weird (way too bright inside?), drinks were pricey especially the beers. I regret to say, however, that they have the best $16 burger I've ever had. Too damn much for a burger, but at least it was good.

Not sure we'd go back to either place.

On a positive note, however, we went to Lakeside Loveshack last night for dinner and hung out in the parking lot for the music they had. Just a guy with a great voice playing his guitar, but it was wonderfully unpretentious and authentic after the weeks earlier dining out experiences.

I left a bad review yeah. Plenty of other people recently complaining about the same thing. They responded asking me to email them, I did, no response.

Their claim is that working on the Ac system in cold weather will damage it so they have to wait for April. Cold weather. What a joke.

ISO a cheap small-ish and quiet space (30 people max) to rent to hold weekly cheap open figure drawing sessions (~3hrs) on Friday nights.

Not looking to turn a profit on this, all proceeds that wouldn’t go toward renting the space would go toward paying the model/instructor.

Anybody have any ideas/leads? Any sort of vacant multi-purpose space would probably do.

I sometimes pass a few to get there. The selection is incredible for the size. I've noticed a lot of the bigger ones just stock way more of the same product, like 10 rows of Evan Williams to fill space. The Carytown one always has the random liqueurs and amari that I'm looking for, or some brand of a liquor I haven't seen. There are far bigger stores with way less of the stuff I tend to look for. Not that everyone is looking for weird stuff like me, but it's something.
