The problem here is that every experience at RIC I have is pretty low stress compared to larger airports. I can usually get from parking to gates in 30 minutes. And we are starting to get more long direct routes like a direct Richmond to Denver flight that saves hours compared to a layover in DC or charlotte or just driving directly to DC and start from there.

Right and I think it actually highlights how good the airport experience usually is. I can get from my door to the gate in 20 minutes usually, so knowing that’s the norm (which is an exception for most airports) was what made it frustrating.

Richmonds violent crime rate isn't particularly bad. According to us news, we are below average. And that's with our stats being higher than they should be since we don't include surrounding counties like most metro areas (cities are parts of counties in every state except va)

The TSA checkpoint also closes unreasonably early. My sister once made it to the checkpoint 30 minutes before a late night flight (think around 10pm) and they were closing up shop.

well, let's say 50 a year go unsolved. Times that by 10 years, that's 50 murders unsolved. Math is easy on this one. Chances are, if you live in the city, someone you pass on your daily has killed someone.

Shootings are 3-4 times the amount that actually die, so in the people you pass everyday, there are 3-4 times the amount of people that have shot someone.

EDIT: Bad math, I was thining of the more than 100 murders we have per year, times 10. Thank you for the correction.
