Adding Pho Que Huong at VCC in Glen Allen. It is consistently good with nice staff and a decent atmosphere (used to be a Famous Dave's BBQ).

My go-to is Pho 79 on Staples Mill.

Pho Thien Phat 2 has an interesting decor. I thought it was good, not amazing.

I won't return to Pho 95 (Willow Lawn).

I haven't been to Pho Tay Doh yet.

I have eaten at nearly every Vietnamese restaurant in Richmond at least twice. Pho Tay Do is a staple, the ambiance is UNMATCHED and their broth is top tier but overall best is Vietnam 1. Lately my favorite place has been Tay Ho up Broad St. They have some harder to find items and their bowls are perfectly portioned.

Also I never go to Mekong FOR Pho, but if you haven’t tried their soft and crispy rolls your doing it wrong.

Fitting that graffiti lamenting the loss of the Regency tunnel is more legible than that which adorned it (although my guy here still working on his N's vs n's).

But fear not middle schoolers and high schoolers of the West End for I have captured a slice of its beauty knowing it was too pure for this world and would one day come to an end.

The hiring/interview process is a nightmare. Put in a lot of work for what is essentially a graduate level assignment given last minute along with no guarantee that your idea won’t be used but you won’t be given a chance to apply or try out the role. Preinterview tasks for professionals who have been in the field for decades is a bit insulting. Some of the admin/professional roles outside of teaching are certainly interesting and seem to have merit but the hoops they drag candidates for is a mess.

Took my (overdue) car to the shop this morning for an inspection. I have such bad car anxiety where it’s either gonna be like $50 or $5,000 and I never know where I’m gonna land. My next big adult task will be to stop ghosting my dentist.

Finished putting together a Lego flower bouquet last night which is bringing me joy to look at while WFH today. I have a call with a client later (I hate phone calls) but otherwise just click clacking away!
