Reply to Rep. Donald McEachin passes away at 61 after battle with colorectal cancer by iNEEDcrazypills
I had met him before at events around town, really nice guy, super genuine cared about the community. So sad to hear and I hope his family is ok.
I’m conflicted through, knowing he was this sick I kind of wish he had stepped down from his seat. He was reelected what 3 weeks ago, and now there has to be a special election.

I am not a doctor, but I'm almost 49 and can tell you what I know.
First off, the medical community and health care insurers have different opinions on the age where people in general should get screened.
If you have a family history of colorectal cancer, doctors will tell you to get screened as young as 40. My doctor started getting serious about recommending it at 45, and that's when I found out that my insurance was like "whoa, dude, you don't need it until 50!" But then I found out my grandfather had had colon cancer in his 70s and that shifted the equation in my favor.
I don't think there are early, easy* to detect signs for colorectal. You're not going to feel lumps like breast or testicular cancers, so it's pretty much going to be an invasive medical exam unless your doctor is okay with the "poop in a bag and send it in" method.
And I think it's the pain-in-the-ass butt probing method that makes a lot of people avoid it, but it's under general anesthesia (awesome nap) and you'll lose five pounds easily during the prep, so I absolutely see it as a win.

Online furniture sales have really exploded, and if you're discerning, there is some decent stuff. I recently purchased bedside tables and a dresser from the same set that were sold by different vendors, I think Cymax and Home Depot of all places. Hardwood and veneer over MDF construction. Even staining and good hardware. About the same price as the aforementioned chain stores during a sale.

Make a shelter, close it, open them, close them, no plan.

seems about right. Did Ann Lambert help? She can tell them to fix their own problems.

Shallow pool is the worst, sorry you’ve had bad luck. I’ve found the 5-7pm window to be clear of all that stuff. They post their schedule online and usually stick to it.

Yeah that sucks a lot. I obviously didn’t go to the link on the billboard, I just drove passed it and thought “hm well having read the book it seems like Jesus is pretty loving and supportive of all humans regardless of orientation, so this billboard failed”

I'm going in a different direction here and suggest going back to Hanes, rooms to go, Haverty, whatever. You now know the landscape and how the stores operate. Stay firm with the staff regarding whether you want help right then or not. Ask questions, take as much time as you want, be confident, and don't feel like you need to be pressured to do anything.
Anxious uncertainty and indecision are chum in the water for any sales person. Get comfortable in their presence and don't allow yourself to get pushed around and you'll do fine.

Jesus didn’t hate shit man. That’s kind of the whole point of the book. And the idea that being gay is a sin comes from the same chapter of the Old Testament where it says you shouldn’t get tattoos or eat shrimp. Leviticus is full of absolute nonsense rules.
If you’re going to call yourself a Christian you need to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and Jesus didn’t teach you to judge anyone’s way of life

If you click through to the website on the billboard, it's standard Christianity death cult bullshit. From their section "LGBTQ":
>Many leaders of the gay community don't just want equal rights - they want to eliminate all opposition to their lifestyle from society - just "as it was in the days of Lot.' Like Jesus said above.
From "Evolution":
>If you are a Christian who believes Jesus and the Bible are accurate regarding creation, don’t be surprised if you are mocked. Remember, Jesus was mocked - and Jesus is really the one being mocked when they mock you.

This seems like a Jennifer McClellan move-up potential, given it's a chunk of her current district in eastern Richmond and beyond and she has higher office aspirations after running for GOV?

How is this so hard? It's not like a new problem. My guess is that COVID had money come to them that they used for housing, then it dried up and there was no plan.

Same for my daughter! She has always hated pizza, sandwiches, bagels, muffins (basically any and all breads). Got her tested a little over a year ago and learned that she has a life-threatening allergy to yeast, plus strong allergies to wheat, barley, and oats. Everyone thought she was a picky eater when it was actually self-preservation.
