will definitely send you a DM here in a second! still haven’t figured out gender yet, my guess is kitten is about five weeks old. which normally is a little soon to be separated from mom, but i read a few things saying basically if mom is actually feral (which if the cat i believe is mom is, that seems to be the case) they need to be taken a little earlier or they get “taught” the fear of humans and are harder to socialize than kittens with a cat that is just a stray who trusts humans for instance.it needs some socialization for sure. i live in an old house that has some weird hiding spots and it has been hiding out a bit but i think is slowly starting to warm up. it finally wandered out a bit and started walking up to me like it was semi-interested in my existence but then when i looked over and said hello it ran back into hiding.

edit: Previous commenter may not be interested in kitten because it is more feral than they thought. So if anyone else thinks they may be interested or know of shelters please still comment them! ❤️ I am going to keep kitten to socialize for a couple weeks and try to get FIV tests etc but past that I am not able to keep it

I don't plan on staying dry, I plan on going for a walk in a few minutes in Byrd Park. I don't mind the rain because at least I can get out of the house for a bit!

My SO and I have a tradition of watching Rose Red while we work on dark stormy days like today, so I fully expect to see that on when I return home.

I'm not. Started a new job that I'm taking the bus to, so had a 10 minute wait for the bus than a half mile walk. An umbrella helped, but my legs from the knees down are soaked, and I'm probably going to get trench foot from wet socks.

After a 3rd interview yesterday, I was not offered a job. With the departure of another staff member, the position was changing slightly and normally I don't think that'd be a huge problem for me, but it changed in a way that simply meant the job no longer appealed to me. So I found it necessary to make that clear. I was on board for the job they advertised, but not the one they now need to hire for. Their choice to pass me over was the right move for everyone.

Still sucks though. The longer I continue in my search, the more I want to return to an org I've worked for prior. I want the ease and trust of familiarity. When you leave a job for reasons of distrust, it's hard to put faith in new orgs that they'll do right by you.

Edit: whoopee, just got a no from another org, it's really putting me in a great mood today....

I’m going to work for the last time at my current contract today. Three months of quotas and stress, and now I’m finally free. I’m guessing I get to leave early too because of how little work is left. (I do temp work so I work contact jobs that I get sent to.) This job was supposed to end in December but they ran out of work, and I am 100% fine with it. I’ll be in Rhode Island this time next week

Unfortunately, I didn't go and do a broad search for all VZ stores in the area on that page. Nice how the 'no equipment returns' line is in fine print. What happens is going through their upgrade process steps, I was given instructions that include "any VZ store" as ok for returns. Looking through that page, return acceptance is only at 4 places in the greater RVA area. The Forest Hill store does take equipment, but they have no practice of sorting out incoming customers by need or complexity of issue. There should be a sign or a person to say "here is where you return equipment" but instead, you wait in line behind people who are doing complicated transactions that could take half an hour apiece. When all that's needed is to hand a box to someone who can key in the return code and wave bye, waiting an hour is not on my calendar.

I left RIC in 2014 and I am surprised Stony Point is still functional as malls we're slowly dying even then and Stony Point just logistically was a terrible place. The only way to get to it is via the highway and it's pretty inconvenient to get to and there was no way to fix that. Short Pump has plenty of mall plus surrounding stores so you can make a trip and get things done with all the options close by, whereas Stony Point all you can do is go there and if it doesn't have what you want it's now a hassle to get to another shopping area.
