Rose Red, now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time. Watched it at a birthday party in 3rd grade - had me fucked up for weeks if not months and I didn’t even finish it.

First I looked at the comment, the quotatation marks immediately make me think sarcasm. Next, I took a cursory glance at his profile before I replied. He was active in communities that are filled with assholes and is regularly downvoted for acting like an asshole.

Then I commented.

I am perfectly comfortable with my threshold. I am sorry for what you experienced, but you are making assumptions here.

I'd never read the book but the film is not all that graphic; akin to most recent historical war dramas. Band of Brothers, 1917, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, The Patriot. Perhaps less romantic than some.

With the rain and my spouse going to the office (who wfh most days) I will probably just work from here. She relocated the cat from the living room to the bed before leaving, who was sleeping nicely but is now staring at me bc she wants breakfast. I myself have a weird relationship with breakfast. I often wake up hungry but it totally subsides after a few sips of coffee so if it's not happening before coffee then I won't eat until 11 or so.

Delivery drivers have it hard enough. I get the frustration of being stuck but they have no choice but to be on the streets that don't provide a place for them to pull off. You have the ability to choose another route.

I don't know anything about his jazz club. I used him to do my taxes in 2020...he told me I did my taxes wrong the two prior years and filed amendments for those as well. Long story short he made fraudulent charity deductions on all 3 years that I didn't catch. I spent months dealing with the IRS, paid back thousands in fraudulent tax deductions, had to pay an actual CPA to navigate everything because Mr. Harvey kept saying that the IRS has contacted me in error and I was "fine" and turns out I had done my taxes correctly for the amended years. So he completely wrecked my mental well being and finances to make a little extra money for himself. During a worldwide shut down. He's scum and refused to take any accountability for his shady practices. If he is doing your taxes, go over every single deduction and past return. I know I can't be the only one...

My only beef is when they do it in stupid ways, like the example you provided, or when they do it right in front of a stop sign, or do it right in front of an EMPTY spot. Like do what you want idc just do it safely. Like dude could've pulled up on to the side walk to let you through, I doubt he needed to stop exactly in the middle of a one way street to do what he needed to do.

I have a tiny car for city driving after having a big ass Camry for years so driving around people is usually not an issue.

Despite traffic Short Pump is super accessible. Being close to I-64 is a major asset. I used to work in site selection - one of the main stats real estate developers look at is average daily traffic counts nearby. In that regard - Short Pump is tremendously better located than Stony Point and the traffic is an asset rather than a detriment because it’s more eyeballs and foot traffic to your location.

Bought a 50 dollar jacket from the company store last week and it’s already falling to pieces. Tried to get a refund and they said I can’t because the jackets discontinued.

Anyone know where I can get a zipper reattached?

So does a broken clock twice per day. Of course if we assume the worst about someone and their intentions we'll be right some of the time.

The collateral damage, of course, being that the internet gets shittier and more negative in general as a result.

This one interaction does not change the general rule...getting sufficient evidence before drawing conclusions leads to better decisions.

Far too many people take a hint or a shred and call it sufficient evidence. I am suggesting a higher threshold.

Short Pump is like Tysons IMO (for Richmond, so its much smaller). All of the other malls are basically defunct. There has to be a place for the Apple Store (and Nordstrom needs to come back god damn it). I doubt Short Pump is going to go away any time soon.

I go to Tyson’s near dc all the time … that mall is packed. It’s just a certain client demographic. Upper middle class it seems. More time to browse and being able to actually buy.
