We ordered a new coffee table from Amazon and it was scheduled to come in tomorrow - so naturally it's going to come in today while it's raining and I'm working in the office instead of tomorrow when I'll be working from home and it'll be sunny.

A headhunter contacted me a few weeks ago about a job doing what I'm already doing but for 12% more money and I entertained their request for an interview because what does it hurt, right? Except they rescheduled the first one and the reschedule was supposed to be for yesterday but I never got a time or a meeting invite. I emailed the headhunter and he hasn't responded. I didn't want the job anyway but it's weirdly annoying.

Well I must be poor because when it said upscale I thought maybe Abercombie, Hollister etc with some of those Tiffany type stores sprinkled between. So that’s why I bothered to go. I literally cannot afford anything there and if I was to splurge I’d just buy it online or at the outlets. I’d say with income inequality, inflation and more a lot of other people may feel the same.

>What is up with delivery drivers thinking that just because they have a big truck they can do whatever in these streets?

Our cops are too busy catfishing teenagers to bother with enforcing laws which promote public safety, so the drivers know they can do what they want.

Being a smaller, upscale mall with above average chain restaurants was its initial draw which worked for a few years… but that was more than a few years ago. It’s financing was actually subsidized by the City which I think still owns the parking lots (may not be the City directly but an ‘authority’ on behalf of the City).

Maybe 146,300 or 246,300 or 463,000 - just comparing it to the other routes, both numbers look way low. I've gotten on the Amtrak to go RIC - DC several times and the train is usually pretty empty when I get on so I would be surprised if there's more ridership from Newport News or Lynchburg/Roanoke to DC than Richmond to DC. In context the 93,298 number looks funny too.

I go to DC from Richmond a few times a year for work or fun, and it used to be you could sit by yourself the whole trip. Now it's common to be on a packed train and have to sit next to somebody. I understand, though. It's so lovely being able to read a book on the train to DC instead of being stuck in traffic.

That plus the people that want to act like assholes when cars pull into their driveways on the road. Like, “oh look at this asshole going home!” Wtf are we supposed to do? 40mph Tokyo Drift up my inclined driveway? So now I put my turning signal on WAY before I turn in, just so they know to leave the lane now if they are those kinds of ppl.

What's more amazing about Dumbarton is that there aren't more accidents.

Literally every single day on the way to and from work, I've got someone flashing their lights behind me or honking at me because I'm only going 37 on Dumbarton.

On Monday, i was turning left off of Dumbarton onto Woodrow and i had a driver pass me on the left, so going into the opposite traffic, to avoid waiting behind me just about 30 seconds. Meanwhile I'm waiting to turn because there are cars going in the opposite direction, so I'm just waiting my turn when this driver goes around me almost causing multiple accidents.

Both of my other cats were also found this way, (one at Food Lion and one outside my house) and I can confirm. The other I found like this is literally the chillest, happiest, nicest cat. Granted I will say he socialized even faster than this one but this little one is doing well for it being the first 24 hours. I also think its sibling was the kitten hit in front of my house a day ago and it might’ve been sad/scared and looking for mom or sibling. I’ve looked outside but no trace of anyone else yet.
