My mom surprised me with a huge advent calendar yesterday so it inspired me to take the day off to decorate for Xmas and surpise the kiddo after school. Its a great day to be productive inside.

Oh damn, I don't think I want that. I mean my thermostat is my thermostat lol.

System is relatively new, little over 5 years. Just had it inspected and all is well, functions as it should.

I really just think no insulation in the attic is killing me, especially in the winter. Will probably just go DIY this weekend and knock it out and see the results on electric bill and gauge it that way before calling a professional.

I actually have 4 very sweet, actually cute kittens that need a home, too. They're "feral" but when we bring them food they're more interested in cuddling and getting scritches and rolling around on your feet than eating. I don't know where to take them (SPCA? RACC? Smoky's is so hard to get a slot for TNR. Private vet?), so if someone wanted a kitty that would be very convenient. Gonna get cold soon.

I thought the wings at irie were incredible, my coworker said “oh nononono you HAVE to go to Jamaica house, it’s so much better.” Well damn, if it’s better than irie it might just be the best spot in rva

Just getting back into the groove of working out, I decided to switch my exercise time frame to the a.m.

It's definitely an adjustment. The first week I just woke up at 5 and would make food and coffee. I think I ran maybe once.

However, once my body clock adjusted to the early wake up (I still struggle when that alarm goes off) and I was able to get out the door to run or hit the gym, I found that my energy was so much better during my workday. Plus you are actually tired at 9/9:30 and can get a great 8 hours sleep if your schedule allows.

Just saw your comment and wanted to offer encouragement and a similar story. The early grind is tough, but I have a much healthier routine now and am glad I suffered through adapting!

NP, the place is more like a commercial grocery store than kitchen wares.. they got kitchen wares mind you... but the place is more like a " Holy crap! I need 500 eggs and Sysco doesn't drop till monday!" Sort of place It's actually pretty neat in there if you're into that sort of thing.. half the building is a walk in cooler.

Rainy days are my favorite and I hate having to be an adult on these days! I just wanna make a blanket pallet and hang out with my cats by the big window.

Work has been weird and I kinda wish I didn't have to go in today. The GM pulled me aside yesterday and told me that he understood if I was looking for another job and I don't know how it made me feel. I know he didn't say it to convince me to leave, but like, have a little faith in everyone else?? I think he's scared of losing an experienced employee and is trying to save a bridge, but I wasn't thinking about moving. Restaurants always go through some shit. This is just another drama wave that will pass.

I'll probably listen to Matchbox 20 today. If you don't like Rob Thomas, fight me.

I agree with what you are saying, it seems hopeless for there to be any change. If Sandy Hook didn't change things what will? Why does everything have to be so extreme in America? All we need is common sense laws related to firearms. Mandatory licenses, training, secure storage, waiting periods, etc. These regulations are completely normal in other developed countries. And people own plenty of guns in other countries. We require a license and training to operate a motor vehicle, but with firearms we don't, how does that make any sense?
