But it’s all he wants. Anyone that’s paid attention to Stoney since he took office knows that his only concern is his political career after he’s done with Richmond. Fuck that guy.

Stoney has shown again and again he cares not for his constituents, only to make himself and his career look good. From being caught telling the cops that launched the raid on the group of people at the statue that included children that they did a "good job" to having no follow up on his initiatives after said attack.
He is a Dem in name only. Screw this guy (because he is a horrible human, partisanship non-withstanding).

Lakeside sucks. I'd take my cat there if I had to, but it would be at the bottom of my list.

Lakeside Animal Hospital gave (or tried to give) sedatives to every pet I have, for things as routine as nail trims. We’ve also been to the Richmond SPCA clinic and to Hanover Green, both which were able to take care of our two dogs and cat without the need for sedatives.
Thoroughly recommend Hanover Green; they have good availability, and their team is so kind and good with our animals. They are pretty reasonably priced too.

Springfield vet clinic in West end. Bonus - if you have a cat Dr Scottish specializes in geriatric feline medicine. His wife also owns Journeys End. Both are fantastic people

Yeah I really hope he gets a second doctor one of these days, that's the only drawback of the place.

Work in rescue and do a ton of vets. Best vet out there. Only issue is it can take some time for a booking but that’s because he’s so good and worth the wait.

Dr Jones is a Saint. It can be hard to get a new patient appt there sometimes as they are usually booked up

I go to Springfield vet out in Glen Allen. I thought their prices seemed reasonable.
We got fantastic "bedside" manner there. Peak of covid I got extended and thorough questions - it didn't seem like they were trying to get me through the door. I took him one time for an emergency visit because his face swole up like a balloon, and the next day the vet that saw him, who wasn't our normal doctor, called my cell to make sure he was doing fine. That's vet CARE.

I didn't downvote and I edited my comment since you were right in pointing out my info was incorrect. All I know is from working with them and their limited budget for projects. I've been told their annual budget is 600k to maintain ALL of the parks. That's just maintenance without the community center improvements which they were lucky to get federal funds to complete. I'm not trying to get karma or be argumentative, just wanted to defend a hard working group of people.

They all struggle for funding and you threw out BS for the karma.
Parks budget is also what the city gives them. They does not include revenue from events, or the FJRP donations.
Downvote then apologize? Or apologize then downvote. You realize that’s oxymoronic?
Just try and provide real data. There is a huge resource right at your fingertips.

Thanks for the info. I should have said a very low budget for the amount of parks they need to maintain and improve. Apologies for the incorrect statement.

Years ago I would have told you Countryside Vet but they are no longer cheap at all. Still great care but every visit is minimum $300

Also go to bon air vet and they don’t seem to Jack up prices

Bon Air Animal Hospital is absolutely lovely, I had an excellent first experience there when I brought my guinea pigs in. I’ve been to two other vets in the area, Lakeside Animal Hospital & Wellesley— both pricey, but Lakeside has taken care of MANY of my guinea pigs.
If you ever get hit with a big unexpected vet bill, I recommend looking into getting CareCredit, it’s a credit card that offers up to twelve months interest free to use on healthcare needs (and vet procedures). I was able to get one of my pigs surgery because of the card, nonetheless I’m still working on paying it off lmao.

What department doesn’t?
And where did you get that info that they have the lowest operating budget? Just curious.
Edit: Nevermind. A quick search and review found you to be wrong. https://rva.gov/sites/default/files/2022-03/FY%202023%20Proposed%20Annual%20Fiscal%20Plan%20-%20FINAL%20%28online%20version%29_0.pdf
