I feel like all the Stoney hate is b/c being Mayor of a poor city is a lose lose situation. People hate change and people hate the way things are.

My guess is that no one is ever going to be satisfied with a mayor of Richmond, unfortunately.

TBH I've been surprised at the love fest for McEachin (rest in peace), he had such an easy job. Keep winning in a district gerrymandered for Democrats, and vote in line with national party issues.

Just a quick reminder that none of the other mayoral options were better. Most were much much worse than him.

Alexsis could have been good. But no one else in either year he ran.

I know everyone hates on him, but being the mayor of Richmond is a really hard job, and it doesn't attract super strong candidates.

Edit: in fact, it attracts some terrible candidates like Joe Morrisey, Kim Gray, Justin Griffin. All folks who would have been 10x worse than Stoney.

Honestly, I don’t think he’d get enough support from the party to run for a US House seat. Anyway, Stoney’s next pursuit is Governor, so I don’t think anyone should fret about him going to Washington. Yet.

Unfortunately, that means he wants to stay in Richmond.

Scott solved my Social security problem that Kaine’s office failed to understand. I would have only 1/2 of my social security that I have today if I hadn’t followed up with Scott. I am a big fan because Scott’s office saved my life. I was a Richmond resident.

Stoney should not be on a list for his current job or any other position of leadership. He’s just awful.

I was thinking this too. This is how people 'fail up' the corporate ladder why not politics. Let his next election cycle sort it out.
