I love this place and we’ve gone every year it has been open. The cocktails are not that expensive.
This year we queued much earlier than usual, like 4 pm. Still didn’t get in until 6:15. Also, I feel pretty salty about people allowing friends to join them in the line. I don’t care if it is one person. But we had a group let five people in ahead of us.
The overall scene is a bit too much for me now. I love the Jasper though. And their happy hours are great prices.

Man, it must get tiring being so insufferable about everything

May want to poke around Salvation army or similar, if you have a few dollars to burn.

Are you willing to share the address? I have some to drop off.

50 dollars for electric sounds fantastic. 100 isn't bad at all. I pay 100 typically in my current place but the heat is paid through the landlord since it's a connected house (duplex).

You're going to get downvoted because this sub gets in its feefees over the word "homeless." It makes them feel virtuous when they use performative language so my advice... mask the URL with https://endunhousednessrva.org

I am not sure where you got that info about frostbite, but it takes longer than 5 min.

I would suggest putting some time in here: https://www.endhomelessnessrva.org/ because that gives you a backbone to work from. I am sure they can use help with donation management!

That's a crazy amount for an electric bill.

If you can get there early and not wait in the absurd line it’s really cool decor and the cocktails are fire but it’s honestly not worth waiting 2 hours in line for, especially in the cold
Too many other bars/breweries/restaurants doing holiday themed decor and cocktails just as good to justify that wait.

Definitely a great resource of course! I’m just protective because she’s an angel and people take advantage of her kindness to animals. She’s literally an angel she’s definitely someone to call and ask for advice

I should have elaborated - I was thinking more that she might have a better knowledge of specific resources that OP can use and could give some advice.

Please don’t contact Smittys- Lynn is overrun, too full with cats, and a one woman show who survives on donations. Better going to RACC or somewhere that actually gets funding :-) thank you

Go at 1am and enjoy the empty bar and relieved bartenders. Before that go to town hall

I waited so long on Friday that i ordered food and a cocktail to go at Greek on Cary to have while in line.
Imo it's worth it if the line looks less than 45 minutes. Yet I've waited multiple hours multiple times bc my fiancee loves the place. Ahh.
I do enjoy the cocktails there tho, esp the naughty shot and the snowball old fashioned
OddWelcome2502 t1_j0v0nv3 wrote
Have you tried calling RACC? If you are in the city, they will usually not allow a cat to suffer. Most other animal controls could give two shits.
GaimanitePkat t1_j0ux9ki wrote
Try contacting Smitty's Cat Rescue or the SPCA (I think it's called Susan Markel vet?)
Available-Reward-912 t1_j0uv1yc wrote
Actually traps are great, if the vet has the right equipment. If they work with ferals often they might prefer the trap because they'll have this giant fork that slots into the trap from the top, then you pivot it to pin kitty. From there you can either sedate lightly before handling, or not, if you are feeling brave.

Thanks. That’s what I remember. I wonder how that area compares to data center valley in NOVA. 70+% of all internet traffic goes thru fairfax and loudon counties.
