Reply to Study shows that regular coffee drinking (2 to 3 cups per day) is associated with lower systolic blood pressure (SBP), peripheral pulse pressure (PP), aortic BP and aortic PP, but with similar arterial stiffness by giuliomagnifico
Then my plan of 8 to 12 a day really sounds good, now!

Definitely does nothing but increase my bp and hr for me.

This is a Mickey Mouse study:

BUT WHAT IF>>
Hahahaha, I'm sorry, it's just so funny. Even as a physics major I wasn't really sure why it was that poking one qubit wouldn't be enough to "receive" a poke on the other side faster than light. That is until someone explained it for me. There is ALWAYS going to be someone who needs that explanation.
For what it's worth I think you did a great job!

i’m sorry i’m basically science-illiterate… is this good or bad for coffee drinkers?

Great Horned Rat approves this message.

"You do not settle whether an argument is justified by merely showing that it is of some use. The distinction is not between useful and useless experiments but between barbarous and civilized behaviour. Vivisection is a social evil because if it advances human knowledge, it does so at the expense of human character."

Deep inside its saying "Ahhh I'm a rat!"

>Catfishing, the act of deceiving and exploiting another person online, can have significant negative impact on the target.
Who knew? Deceiving and exploiting other people can have significant negative impact on the target.
>Machiavellianism, and narcissism to predict catfishing perpetration.
We already knew that.
>A sample of 664 participants
I'm pleased to see psychologists are no longer publishing results from Mickey Mouse studies with less than a few hundred participants. That's progress.

Thanks for explaining. Some clear distinctions there!
In the summary of prior research (introduction here), I don't see any reference to anything from the 90s like what you were saying. Can you cite it?

Reply to New n=987 study into coulrophobia (the fear of clowns) suggests its main causes are clowns' unpredictability, their illness-like makeup, and prior media exposure. by fotogneric
Yeah, I mean I hated clowns from being very young. Mum took me to a circus and I remember thinking the creepy guy with the weird face was not trustworthy. Then I saw him throwing buckets of water on people, except the water turned out to be confetti. I decided I didn’t want anything thrown on me by a person with a crazy face and screamed until Mum took me out. Must have been maybe three or four years old.
It’s not hard to understand why some unpredictable, weird looking person would be scary to kids. You can learn that they’re not scary as you get older but that initial strong emotional response will linger on some level because early childhood experiences are formative.

Ha ha! I love that the more coffee is studied the more benefits are uncovered! I will **not** stop drinking it every morning!

It helps to drink a dark roast not a medium one to not get acid

It doesn’t seem to say anything regarding the fact that catfishing is frequently part of an actual scam, as opposed to just for laughs— which I think is an odd thing to simply not mention.
