Yup. Their feces can cause it. Especially German roach feces

Not to mention it’s basis also in white supremacy. The model of functioning for typicality is straight white men.

Why were the ancient animals so large, initially?

let me throw in gigantism as an evolutionary trait that protects prey animals from predation, and thus escalation where predators needed to be larger to predate on huge prey.
the sheer variety of species back in time is massively scaled compared to today.
eventually things hit a critical mass though, as that size becomes unsupportable with slower reproduction and birthing cycles and strategies. look at pandas that would rather eat than mate, or alpha walrus social structure where most males never get a chance to copulate.
and so being smaller, caring for smaller young, requires much less resources, and allows much faster breeding, and so becomes evolution's dominant form.
add environmental changes like less oxygen, but count that as part of the resources a species needs to thrive, not a cause for gigantism.

So many adverse outcomes are linked to poor educational attainment and low SES…I wish it was more widely recognized.

Yeah, but these don't seem albino. Although that could have been because the Elder Things had kept them cooped up in caverns. So it's likely we have finally found the evidence of one of the Elder Things' primary foodstuffs. And, I suppose, what they fed their protoplasmic slaves/pets. Tekeli-li!

There was some kind of study done that suggests that people’s base-line happiness stays about the same. Got a new job that you love and are excited about? Yeah you might be happy for awhile but your general happiness levels out. I could be totally butchering this but it was an interesting read. Too lazy to Google and link but yeah.

Same here. Once I was financially stable, I could afford to go to the doctor to fix an issue that had been bothering me for a long time. While large copay’s and deductibles still suck, I can afford them a bit more now and a car repair doesn’t send me into a panic.

This is the leading theory. Higher levels of oxygen and huge land masses free of human development to roam on.

I went from poor to middle class and, while I was less stressed by things, I was somewhat disappointed to discover that my default mood was still just a dull melancholy.

The stimuli (what you're trying to learn) would have to be presented during the trough of your alpha wave, which would be something you couldn't time without help.
