Then this is of course the description that should have been used.

Ok but you are still negatively reinforcing your avoidance behaviors. If you want to be less fearful you need some degree of gradual exposure or desensitization. The relief of avoiding fear is very reinforcing.

The “savannization” here refers to when lush rainforest gives way to a drier, open landscape that resembles savanna but is actually degraded forest. by MistWeaver80
I sang this thread to the tune of "We didn't start the fire".

It wasn't until DSM V that PTSD was removed from an anxiety disorder, because it's not only that. Our lives suck: our brains were trained on cues in unpredictable homes/situations (most people who get PTSD from a Type I event were primed to get it from their chaotic social environment). So the brains develop or change differently and just go haywire and hopeless over what is usually benign stimuli once we are out of those situations.

Understood. Fair enough. Genuine follow up question: Why does the body regulate to prevent higher concentrations?

Agreed. I’m not saying rapamycin is safe. I’m tempering the comparison of C and rapamycin

This is more particle physicists flinging stuff at the wall hoping something will stick. That’s kind of their thing

The difference is delivery. Pharmacological is delivered in a manner that bypasses natural VC regulation and can achieve much higher concentrations.

They've made a distinction that intravenous Vit C I'd effective but oral isn't because absorption rates vary wildly.

I think you’re misreading it says it protects against brain inflammation which is one of the causes of dementia and such no?

In short, it’s complicated
It could effect wildlife as a niche is being encroached. It could also effect growth as perhaps the lack of certain vegetation helps with nutrient rich runoff coming down the mountain.
As for the change in number of trees, I’m going to take a guess that it would be a drop in the bucket relative to the forest clearings we’ve been doing elsewhere

It's the delivery that's different. This is intravenous and bypasses natural regulation, thus providing concentrations not easily obtained otherwise.

No, they're saying oral isn't effective, but intravenous is.

Looks like the other big thing was giving it by IV so they could get to concentrations that would normally capped by the body's regulation mechanisms?
