Reply to Companies with climate change initiatives may be the biggest greenhouse gas emitters. Researchers say this supports the theory of companies 'greenwashing' with symbolic gestures rather than making material change that can help fight climate change. N = 600 companies from 35 countries. by MistWeaver80
The headline is completely meaningless.
What metric are they using?
Carbon emission in absolute terms, or carbon emission per employee, or carbon emission per dollar of profit?
That makes a huge difference.

Hi there u/tornpentacle, here's a response from Prof Andrey Miroshnichenko, a lead researcher in the Nanophotonics team at UNSW Canberra.

>LCD screens use backlight illumination, and light propagates through a liquid crystal cell before entering our eyes. By changing the properties of the liquid crystal cell, the light can be blocked or not. Here we eliminate the relatively thick liquid crystal cell, maintaining the ability to control light propagation properties, making it thinner and lighter.

Topical means a cream or ointment that is spread on the skin. Before or after doesn’t matter. You can use a topical medication to prevent a condition or to treat it after it’s occurred.

Reply to Brain changes in fighter pilots may cast light on astronauts during space travel: Study finds that pilots show ley changes in brain connectivity and they may function as suitable test subjects to learn more about space travel. by DreamingForYouAlways
While fascinating, I think it's a stretch to assume that fighter pilots and astronauts would have similar enough brain structures to be cross-compatible in a study like this.
Yes, they deal with similar things, but Astronauts deal with so much more than fighter pilots do. They also move much faster, experience total weightlessness, and spend extended periods of time away from Earth's gravitational pull.
What can be extrapolated from this study requires a huge asterisk saying "but we can't know for sure since they weren't astronauts and their professions are still markedly different.

I wish there were more studies about how drug use can damage neurons and can cause these conditions in the first place.

You can until a certain age. After a while the contents of the food you're eating catch up with you in the form of health problems, regardless of activity levels or body fat percentage.

In the classroom. So coloring, building blocks, etc. Quiet, creative play.
Apparently some dumb hick hunters were shooting guns too close to the school so they have no outdoor recess during active hunting seasons now. And then the weather is too cold.
