Because they aren't allowed to compete with real humans.

The same way machines aren't allowed to compete with athletes on the Olympic stadium. If machines are allowed to compete with real humans on the Olympic stadium and the other sport events - quickly the real athletes will be outperformed and won't be able to sustain their professional career.

There is no regulation about AI in arts however, so real humans art will only become something luxurious and less real artist will exists.

You really need to read Iain M. Bank's Culture series for the best version of what a post-singularity universe could look like.

In theory the singularity would like a tsunami washing away everything human, but in the best version humans will be protected by powerful AI and a human-scale world will be created from them.

You had a bad experience and therefore systemic changes are needed? Do you know what the word "anecdote" means? Of course, there are indeed issues with healthcare systems, but generalizing it to "every healthcare worker" is not helpful or accurate. Doctors/nurses aren't the issue, but that doesn't mean they're all 100% good.

Chess playing Ais didn't make chess game stop existing.

Career Artists will exist through human connections even if robots are better at drawing until the singularity which will obliterate every career that exists and then everyone will do what they're passionate about.

Is there sound? It just looped back and forth between 2 clips. But I'm watching on my phone and don't have the app installed.

This is something I've been interested in creating as well, but a tenet styled script that shows nonsensical actions taking place in an ASMR relaxing environment setting that reveal their necessity in the following scene.

They give up because they lack passion or are bullied by people like you into a negative belief!

Look, you cannot bully me into your negative belief of "AIs are bad for artists". I've literally been drawing with oils since 1998 and no AI can stop me.

Wake up from your negative perceptions, dude! AIs are amazing tools for artists! I'm telling you this as an artist.

One thing nobody seems to discuss: As we move into a post-CO2 future, we will not have enough renewable power (at least initially), to maintain the lifestyle to which we've become accustomed in the west.

Which means we need to use more man-power and less electric power overall.

Think of all the things that used to be man/nature-power vs. fuel/battery powered: lawn mowers, leaf blowers, toothbrushes, razors, washing machines, clothes dryers, bicycles, toilets, blenders, floor mops, cigarettes, cameras, window blinds, scooters, telephones, earphones, etc., etc., etc.

If we want to save our societies from climate annihilation, in the short-term, we need to triage what gets to use artificial power.

Considering the global, eons-lasting consequences we are facing if we don't get emissions down, energy triage is the most compelling argument for choosing humans over robots.

Zuckerberg hit an all-time home run when he created facebook, the exact right product at the exact right time to catapult him into the billionaire class. But since than, what has facebook or meta come up with? They have bought companies, but I don't see them as innovators.

Also, LeCun is on record as saying many current approaches to AI are essentially dead-ends. So I'm not surprised he is talking down the competition, but until meta release their own product it's starting to look like they are the ones going down the wrong path.

When horses became obsolete because of cars, I'm glad there were people lobbying and made cars possible today.

I'm fine with lobbying if it's gonna bring attention from people who should pay attention to the fuckery we're going to get into if we let these tools evolve without planning.
