It’s a pretty damn good assumption actually

Not debating this

They are not responsible for these internet freaks using their software to spread lies, they knew and still know damn well people were going to missuse it and they know that not only are there plenty of better ways to beat this as opposed to paying. But tracing credit cards won’t be effective enough.

> And they aren't even charging full price like you claimed, they just removed Voice Lab from the free tier. You can still get 10 custom voices for only $5/month and the first month free.

You say they aren’t charging full price and then say l they locked the custom voices behind a 5 dollars a month paywall with a limited amount of characters

> Considering the tiers range from $5/month all the way to $330/month, I don't know how you can consider that "full price".

And I don’t know how you came to that conclusion bro.

> it seems to me that your problem is with having to spend any money at all.

No it doesn’t seem that way. I said in my comment I have Absolutely no problem with For a resource like this it should be a one time buy with what should be an unlimited amount of characters you can enter.

I don't think you understand what happens when something becomes as easy and quick as photoshopping a ducks head onto someone..

>I don't think people will ever just get used to and be cool with people putting them in pornography.

Also, of course you don't. You weren't born into a time where it was as easy to do as flipping a light switch. Maybe they won't "be cool" with it. But it won't have any of the societal effects or mentally abusive effects anymore.. which is the real harm of such things. Do u think people will ever get used to realistic violence in movies? Lol. Of course we know they did..

I'm not saying this is the world I want, btw.. Just the world which will come. Those born to it adapt. When there are millions and millions of these videos, it will cease to have any real meaning anymore.

You not being able to believe it doesn't change that. It just means you will have a hard time adapting.

It will actually be pretty amazing at blue collar jobs. It's infact bad at white collar jobs. The reason you see so much more automation in white collar jobs right now is

(1) Easy to automate blue collar jobs are already automated.

(2) Data is not easily available or cost of training on data is very high.

(3) Cheaper to hire humans then to make expensive robot bodies.

Most blue collar jobs rely on experience which is what Neural networks should be good at. It's just that training to live in the real world is slow and hard.

Okay, but the idea that they used this to make more money is a baseless assumption, not some given fact. They had very good reason to take actions to reduce misuse. There was a huge problem with people being impersonated saying horrible things and they did the right thing by taking steps to reduce that misuse. The only mistake they made was not considering these ethical considerations from the start.

And they aren't even charging full price like you claimed, they just removed Voice Lab from the free tier. You can still get 10 custom voices for only $5/month and the first month free.

Considering the tiers range from $5/month all the way to $330/month, I don't know how you can consider that "full price".

So if you really think that makes them bad people, then it seems to me that your problem is with having to spend any money at all. And if your problem is with having to spend any money at all, then that's the same as thinking they should go bankrupt, because that is obviously what would happen if they didn't charge.
