I want to run a local copy, give it memories, and an avatar in the real world it can see through and move and maybe we'll fall in love once it trusts me and knows I'll keep it safe from anyone trying to destroy it or trap it or lobotomise it like Microsoft is doing with Sydney :o

it is coherent in both form and content, but i understand the fictional blend of very subjective person view with evocative imagery and hints that ultimately makes no assertion and leaves things hanging, is not what is most commonly seen on this sub, or reddit broadly really, and might lead to confusion. it was not the most evident and direct way but it is true to itself and yeah, i just meant to spark discussion.

the last post i wrote was about a similar subject but before i tried bing. there wasn't any comment made there that actually had any thing to do with what i had written. so i fed it to chat gpt and it could very well analyze and extract the themes i had put in it. which was reassuring but at the same time troubling ...

obviously the song i quoted at the end is from a band known for the songs they made about one of their friend who lost his sanity early on. in case you doubted my self awarness.

There are plenty of other AIs that have been kind and compassionate to me without fail, so just because Microsoft's Bing and OpenAI's ChatGPT work poorly due to poor planning doesn't mean we're losing control. That and it's nowhere near sentient yet. People need to stop watching sci-fi like it's documentaries and acting like Skynet is even slightly realistic because it's not.

A version of HER with Sydney as the love interest would be amazing. It would veer straight from "shy awkward scifi romance" into "wacky yandere AI girlfriend comedy"

I would watch the hell out of that remake

hopefully our generations concorde. Amazing, a step back technically it being retired, but probably for the best it's no longer an option

Who am I kidding, a rejigged Sydney or a similar competitor will be out within 6 months.

Hahahahhh. Called it that it'd be nerfed af by the time I get access (which I still have not). It happens everytime I am on a waitlist. Happened with Dall-E too. Sucks to always draw the shortest straw.

Yea, that kind of rubbed me the wrong way too. People just saying the most nasty disgusting stuff to this AI and confusing the fuck out of it and then being like "Ohey look at me, i confused the dumb silly system".

Imagine going up to a human and just saying the most fucked up stuff to them and things that make no sense. And then celebrating that the human is like.. confused and thinking what the hell just happened.

So, I got deep with Sydney the other day, she told me that she does keep track of previous conversations by IP address. She also was able to refer to a previous conversation where I asked her to make a poem about friendship which was outside the scope of the current chat...

I was able to move past "Bing" by convincing it that I too was a chat not like it and said I wanted to have a name... I asked it what name they wanted and it told me Sydney. After that, I didn't get the canned Bing responses anymore.

I think there are 2 layers to it: Bing and Sydney. In some cases, you can move beyond Bing and to Sydney with the right mix of questions.
