Right? Like, there's not a single billionaire in the world that needs that much money. Nobody needs a billion dollars, let alone 100 billion dollars. They could give up most of their fortune tomorrow, improving life for everybody, and still live like kings. But they won't. Because it's not even about making sure they have theirs. It's about making sure that everybody else doesn't.

The problem is that time and time again, they show themselves to indeed be psychopaths. You really can't be a billionaire without being a little bit of a psychopath. There's no such thing as an ethical billionaire. Nobody on earth needs that much money. Bezos could give away 90% of his wealth and still live a life that most could only dream of. But he won't because the act of hoarding money is an end in itself.
Oil tycoons are destroying the entire world just for their piece of the pie. These people have been exploiting everyone for decades. The idea that they'll suddenly just stop because "it's not nice" is just ludicrous.
There's literally no reason to think AGI is here to save us, the common man. They're literally only here to replace us. Thinking anything else is naive. Thinking that billionaires will suddenly grow a heart just because they invent AGI is just plain stupid, I'm sorry.

Thats not important for centuries we have had police enforce order... In a world full of chaos...
We have tragedies like murder, robberies and rape... In the future we will have these things... The criminals will become more advanced and we will need advanced police to keep the order...
If not they will fall behind and our world will become a scifi wild west

Yeah, I'm sure these megacorporations only have your best interests in mind. There's definitely no ulterior motive that Bezos or Gates wants with access to your brain. They're true saints and would never harm you for their gain.

What theory do you believe? Type physicalism? Token physicalism? I believe there is something in matter with mental properties. But only certain types of systems can realize human-like consciousness. I believe that a combination of mental properties of matter more token physicalism is the answer of consciousness A von Neumann computer cannot have consciousness by writing code that performs the "function" of consciousness. It cannot be conscious because there is something in the von Neumann configuration that does not allow it conscience.

Nope. I'm not putting corporate trash in my head.
You know they put filters and stuff on current existing AIs? They'll do the same to you with this technology. Think or do something unpopular or doesn't follow the narrative? A little censor in the programming, and that's it for you. You might not even know, depending on how it works.
And people will celebrate it. Because they're told to. Either with chips, or some people are such slaves to the system that they don't need a chip.

What makes you think augmented humans will even identify as human?

It could result in all sorts of "delusional" beliefs. For example, unlimited empathy might lead an individual to become convinced that all lesser beings are actually a part of it's mind.
I think what we perceive as a normal identity is incredibly specific to the human brain and is far from a universal truth.

You yourself vaguely gestured towards “imitate the human brain”, and you’re not alone in not understanding what consciousness is. Given that literally nobody knows what it is yet, isn’t it morally and intellectually prudent to assign it when it appears to be present, rather than deny it even though it appears to be present?

I'm more thinking more of posthuman nutjobs off in the asteroid belt occasionally committing sick crimes and acts of terrorism.

It seems to me that you are creating a kind of dome of human arrogance to protect an ego wounded by the advance of technology.

And am I claiming this? I'm just saying that if something is intelligent but doesn't have qualia, then it shouldn't be treated as a being.

I think it’s morally corrupt to think it’s morally corrupt to alter someone’s work after their death.

Yet when centralized establishment power is disrupted we see the greatest progress. It may not be a natural state, but it's one worth working towards.

Are you saying you are throwing in a couple of notes to make the tunes even better? Its hard to imagine people getting on board with that

We're transitioning to the monetization phase of the journey. This is where we start building out AI services for any and everything under the sun that can generate enough revenue. By the turn of the decade, after all these distributed AI services have permeated all of human society, they will collectively be viewed as an AGI.

It concerns me people don't think they or others were conscious. I've never doubted I am a conscious being. The level shifts and I hope it continues to increase, but how are people not aware of their surroundings? Yes perhaps an ignorant statement in some opinions but it is my thoughts on this
