I wish people would just realize that words on the internet are not a source of danger.

Generalization is the end goal, not memorization.

Genetic engineering for anything but avoiding horrible diseases is forbidden as far as I know. I don't know of any trials to engineer smarter children, and don't believe the trials will be publicly permissible.
BCIs are pretty much garbage for making superintelligence and will remain that way for decades at least. The only way they become useful is if we understand the brain very well.

Probably some kind of cringe-comedic joke about how the only way this much evil and suffering could exist is if some sick fuck was getting off on it

The addition of a calculator seems so simple and straightforward that I'm amazed there's no calculation subroutine present.

While I definitely think AGI can exist, I wouldn't say it's proven yet, being that we don't have one. But if AGI can exist, I don't see anything that'd indicate it would stop there. What's your reasoning for thinking ASI might not be able to exist?

What points did you make? Weāre already starting to genetically engineer children even though we havenāt gotten to the intelligence part yet and thereās no clear indication that AGI will happen anytime soon, itās a completely theoretical technology.

Thereās no hard and fast rule on defining AGI/ASI. Iāve seen where people consider AGI/ASI one and the same, and Iāve seen where theyāre treated as separate concepts.

I donāt think itās at all clear that AGI will happen before human superintelligence, that seems like complete speculation.

I didn't know China was doing it too! I know Russia recently open sourced one. If their tactic is to undermine western power by open sourcing their next big products, they can keep doing it

AGI is ASI from the start, the distinction is probably meaningless.
Anyway, unless we go extinct, yes, it will happen.

Society is an emerging property of a group of humans but not in terms of intelligence. If you took perfectly intelligent human (whatever that means) and gave him infinite amounts of time and removed the problem of entropy breaking things then he'd be able to do all the things that whole human society achieved. AGI is by nature of human level intelligence and I'd guess grouping them together is unlikely to produce superintelligence.

This will usually be the case. A tool optimized and fit for a particular purpose will usually outperform.
