As for winning, i won a fair while ago when somehow tried to claim that the government getting more taxes would somehow only go "elsewhere" since they're corporate taxes and then tried to call yourself an economist of some kind.

If AI is so powerful it could take our jobs, maybe it is powerful enough to find useful employment for humans. Humans are resources, we are GPT-N level and salary costs are not that big. In the new economy there will be many jobs, some of them right on our level of ability/cost.

Moving design attribution from one country to another is much easier than doing the same for physical goods. You just develop it in country A and launch it in country B, no taxes.

Seems like every time a cutting edge AI technology gets released to the public and becomes mainstream people just wanna show off about it. We got it with Stable Diffusion, and now ChatGPT, until the next big thing.

We get it, it's cool and all. But after more than a month of spamming the same things all the time it gets old real fast.

This is the obvious path to sustain humanity...there's the other path of course where wealth continues to accumulate into fewer and fewer hands...but it doesn't end well for those that own the robots.

Mostly intuition combined with the speed of things. I initially looked at Kurzweil's estimates, which has human level AI in 2029, and have been watching progress towards that. When AlphaStar conquered StarCraft, it was about two or three years before I had guessed AI would be able to play a game where you had a lot of disparate information and had to combine it into controlling a lot of different units and situations.

So to me it's still about 2029 or even sooner for human level AI, and I think what I'd consider a Superintelligence would be about 5 years after that. It would work to improve itself but wouldn't be immediately designing new GPUs and things like that, that would take a few years before it had access to infrastructure and resources to get hardware and things made. But I think once a human level ai gets access to all of those things then it can improve itself fairly quickly.
