Hey man if you want to eat garbage go ahead ;]

Most people hate random low effort gpt spam and would like for it to be removed from the sub. It’s just not relevant to the singularity or ai research. Sorry that the rest of us want to see things that aren’t low effort.

I’m making one on the story I tell my kid every night. It’s for keeping this memory and sharing it. I don’t expect to make money out of it. But like the idea to share it to the world.

I’m totally a wanker at this though. But lets face it. This is one of the changes ai will probably bring, writers could be like vinyls, a few will still thrive while the rest will mostly be replaced by ai.

no its not. I LOVE reading it. It's great content that adds everything.

Now what? You want to act as if your opinion is worth more than mine? And that your opinion is why we should censor people?

THe fuck is wrong with you guys thought process? You want to live in Russia go to Russia.

Some things are cut and dry, like women's rights and treating people with respect. If someone has conservative views then they'll be labeled a conservative. The hivemind isn't out to get anyone, it's just that conservative views aren't as popular as non-conservative views. Clown enthusiasts aren't very popular either, but they don't feel attacked all the time, probably because they don't hold positions of power that can affect everyone.

manners? MANNERS?

this isn't about manners. people are posting content they enjoy posting, that isn't hurting anyone.

you guys don't like the content, and want rules in place to stop the content. you want to abuse power to shield your eyes.

and you want to talk about manners. Wild.

It is going to happen, but nobody can tell you when it is going to happen. Suggestions range from 'in a couple years' to 40 years or a couple hundred years. Nobody knows for sure.

Why is it going to happen?

We already have tons of weak artificial intelligence (or what I would like to call: complex algorithms). This type of artificial intelligence only knows how to do one type of thing, but with greater results than any human could produce. Examples: Chess AI, ChatGPT, Googles AI, Apples Siri, Amazons Alexa, etc. They excel at what they were designed for, but are completly useless in other applications. We havent created a general purpose artificial intelligence yet (strong artificial intelligence), because it is a highly complex task. But it shouldn't stop us from doing it.

Imagine an artificial intelligence so intelligent and efficient, that it can do more research in a couple weeks than 100000 years worth of human research would ever discover. It is going to drastically change our collective lives.

We have a machine that can understand questions and answer them, mostly correctly in natural English. Today the chorus is "OK we get it, there's a machine that can chat, now fuck off about it." Not three years ago it was "you're dreaming, that won't happen for a hundred years, if ever." SMH my head.

I have been using it more as something g to bounce story ideas and themes off of and to edit my stories and ideas. I ignore alot of what I see posted about it, because it seems to be just people trying to test the boundaries of it. Which is good just not the boundaries I'm interested in.

Religion is just anything you have faith ("belief") in without understanding the belief justification chains (or even that there is such a thing as different kinds of links in belief justification chains).

Thus, modern atheists are religious as well as they don't actually understand the Science (tm) and "logic" that shapes their beliefs, and they end up in culture war battles no different from early religious wars.

Modern science can no longer even predict what a man or woman is, which is just as simple as predicting what color the sky is. As an atheist myself, it's important to acknowledge the win religion has on this one.

You talk about, ‘when people people are desperate. I think of that desperation in real human experience,ie: increased poverty, hunger, homelessness, suicide, substance abuse. Is it worth that to let nature take its course(!?) with Ai? No one who has experienced that or had to fight with their lives not to experience it would think so.
