I don't understand how he can't even resolve his own "copyright issues" of Stable Diffusion, yet he's acting like he's "knocking down the ladder" of MLLM's achievements. I'd hope he'd write an open letter to the many artists who have blamed Stable Diffusion rather than this hypocrisy.

Yup, they're all playing catch up, including Emad (the stable diffusion guy),

They know if GPT5 is released within 1-2 years, it would be game over for them in terms of catching up. It would take a while for them to even recreate gpt 4 or even gpt 3.

Even Google can't seem to catch up. Bard is like a GPT2.

'Regulation of Art' isn't regulation so much as a dynamic that hinges on cost of production and niche market interest.

Take for example a new site that wants to install a public sculpture, the leads for the site are not going to just prompt 'Public Art' and 3d-print. The stakeholders and relationships involved are a real thing and influence.

Personally as someone who loves playing around with AI-Art its potential variety is still very small compared to the scope of creative work that human's get up to. Interested people will maintain their sensitivity to the difference.

Paradoxically technology will become easier to navigate not harder thanks to LLMs. You can now just tell Excel what you want from your spreadsheet rather than having to learn complicated formulas and pivot tables etc

What about photonics I think they have made some steps towards light-based computing.

In theory faster, use less energy and could get around the circuit wiring problems as photons don't interact with each other and can cross an empty space very fast.

Either UBI, or what my AI pet will make for me. failing both of those ideas, 99.9% of the rest of the population will be in the same boat, so I'm looking at a world wide violent revolution, where we take the wealth created by AI for ourselves.

Third option is looking less and less likely by the day (most people actually want to look after others, and the democratisation of these technologies is forcing prices down), but I'm ready to fight for the survival of myself and family if necessary. I do believe abundance is not only possible, but exceedingly likely in the near term.
