I'm not familiar with their takes (like many have pointed out, this is starting to seem like a full-time job keeping up!) but I'll take a look.

But even when I heard Elon comment in an interview or article about AI even 5 - 7 years ago, all I could see/hear was "me me me!" He'd talk about AI safety but it was blatantly never anything to do with that when it came to him specifically. It has significantly more to do with his ego than anything else.

This sub is flooded with people who started caring about AI in the past few months and gum up the terminology. People say AGI when they mean ASI, sometimes combining this with the idea that AGI is any minute now.

The latter is based on a much looser definition of AGI which is nowhere near ASI, but saying AGI 2023 Singularity 2023 gets updoots and retoots.

Then there's the people who just bust in here and say "well that's not TRUE AI" - the first time I have seen 'true' be the key term is from... these people.

I'd say in the short term the schools themselves will remain but the adults will just be there to maintain order. Tons of teachers are already using GPT for their lesson plans. We'll just cut out the middle man. This will be especially true once AI can generate high quality video on the fly.

I agree with this, Chatgpt gave the school system a rude awakening, and it will most definitely happen again. Personally when that happens many people will not be ready, teachers just entering the job space might just be out of a job of lecturing.

Either 100% fake, or for the people who want to sign it, they just want to catch up. Note how it says anything more powerful than GPT-4. So basically nothing will change as no one other than open AI is larger than GPT-4.

This is also ridiculous, how can we solve something this big in 6 months if we can't even fix issues that are centuries old (health care, school shootings, etc.).
