Our politicians are worried about regulating women's bodies and trans persons, oh and book burning. But I'm sure it'll be fine. Surely they'll all come together and institute a robust social safety net when a quarter of the country is unemployed. Hopefully /s isn't needed here...

This is wrong on so many levels that I don't even know where to start. The obsession to reduce humans to computers leads to absurdity. It dehumanises us and leads to modeling the world as though we're all automatons. If a person becomes nothing more than a value producer, and groups are just factories, what's the point of having humans around? Just get yourself a truckload of GPUs!

u/Arowx , I’m a day late to this party, but I attended a talk at work this morning where the researcher lamented ChatGPT’s terrible math skills. (ChatGPT 4 was reported integrated with with Wolfram Alpha days ago.) Presentations are now outdated before they can be presented.
