Hey! I have not responded in a while! about AI... Yes I am so excited!! How about microwaves? Remember before then? having to warm things up on the stove in a pot?! Or in the oven Using more energy! How about convenience?!
It took a lot longer before the microwaves came out!
I had a severe traumatic brain injury August 29 1987 and what happened to my brain from the impact from the head on car crash Can never be prepared.
I lost my right field Of vision from both eyes and it will never come back. Or will it??
Neuralink is working on repairing brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
I would love to get my right field of vision back! Or even my sense of taste and sense of smell be nice to have again!
Well they have to prove it right?! Here I am!

I'm referring to the research on human language. Fitness function is a part of it as well

Something that came to mind from chaos theory is a point attractor. So you could call it something like opposing point attraction or something along those lines.

yeah but we will look very stupid if the maximal tech point is actually not even pleasant. Maybe there really is no cure for human condition and that's it, who know.

Iβm building an organization to do exactly what you mentioned. Itβs an AI oversight watchdog that will work closely with policy makers, businesses, and the public to help ensure that people are properly trained, informed, and protected.
If youβre interested in participating send me a DM. Weβre laying the ground work to become an official NGO

Its gonna turn into a security/defence-issue, if it haven't already.
You can not stop developing or using the most powerful tool (for everything) in the world - unless your advisory do the same.
If you look at the world right now its not exactly looking like world leaders will sit down and agree on anything. There is zero trust and willingness to co-operate because no-one has the same goal it seems. One part of the world still dabbles in versions of either autocracy or theocracy, while the other part is trying to make democracy not break down as a result of un-regulated capitalism, greed and soon climate change.
AI is gonna ignite change.
Lets hope its good - and not just more efficient killing tools like we are already seeing drones becoming in all conflicts.

The reason, why agents seek power is to increase their fitness function. The power seeking is logical consequence of having a goal, it's not product of human language. You are writing nonsense...

It won't make translators useless. You likely have never read a translated work, it's not an easy job.

Until I have a hologram for my mouth and a real-time voice synthesizer and perfect language translation, no. I don't wanna be a dork that reads off a phone, thank you.

I am fully aware of all of these beings have a very complex language and can trade ideas... But truly how complex is this language?
I think I agree with your second theory. The more complex the neural net, The more it functions as a receiver of consciousness. If language really is just another tool that we've invented to understand our model of the world, It's the best tool we've created so far by far. Literally nothing compares. Except maybe math, and we still trade the ideas in math in language (the math notation) We still invented language for math, so that we could standardize a way to communicate mathematical ideas.
If language is just a tool, it's a tool for literally everything, including "truth" through math
But yeah this is all speculation

An intelligent entity of any kind will not resolve violence by wiping out humanity. Let me put it this way.
If person A kills person B
The AI is not going to say "welp lets also kill person C"

I just wish he'd have a little more tact to his argument. His fears are legit, but if he would just say "could lead to human death or subservience" or something like that, people would be more willing to listen instead of just jumping to "were all going to die" every single time.

Good, we agree. Semantic games aside, many is still not all and just one of these going rogue in unpredictable ways is enough risk to be concerned about.
