You should see my other post. These are the contents:

I have a proposition that I call the "AI Lifeline Iniative"

If someone's job gets replaced with AI we would then provide them a portion of their previous salary as long as the company is alive.

For example:

Let's say Stacy makes $100,000 a year.

She gets replaced with AI. But instead of getting fired she gets a reduced salary down to let's say $35,000 a year. Now she can go home and not worry about returning to work but still get paid.

This would help our society transition into an AI based economy.

Why should we debate a tweet when there’s a 4 hour podcast to discuss?

My humble opinion is there has never been a tweet worth discussing. Nothing typed to <240 characters can possibly give enough context to even consider discussing.

There isn't going to be another AI winter. I am almost certain that the US government has realised they are on the cusp of the first significant opportunity to fundamentally change the ratio of "work produced" per barrel of oil. I.e. we can spend the same amount of energy to get 10x 100x productivity.

There is no stopping this. That said - it doesn't mean you want to stop listening to the warnings.

"Animals can also see, hear, smell, touch etc. They have all those models too. But they don't have language, and thus can't share ideas, can't communicate at all, can only communicate in body language which is simply not enough."

The cetaceans of earth would like for you to issue an apology for your ignorance. Humans aren't the only species with language by far. Elephants, dolphins, whales all have language.

UBI is most definitely a solution. In the short term. Because you aren't going to jump from "everyone with a job!" to "no one has a job but it's okay because we have free stuff coz - AI". That's not going to happen overnight.

There is going to be a reasonably long and painful bit in between where people still have goddam mortgages to pay and investment of time and resources into assets that they own.

Depends what you mean by learn. A sufficiently advanced AI will be able to figure out how to upload data from any topic we want to be proficient in directly into our brain, and we immediately become able to have the skills we want, incl speak a language.
