Insulting someone else’s intelligence doesn’t make you any smarter.

Some of us have got this idea..... we want to land a craft. Deploy solar sails. It'll have a great, big canopy! Solar winds will be caught by the mylar sails....
C'MON, GUYS!

You’re not wrong there. There’s bound to be millions of people acting elitist in this world.

Wow!
"...but the JWST's incredible sensitivity made it possible to see this roughly 100-meter object at a distance of more than 100 million kilometers [over 62 million miles."

Yeah, but we're doing a half assed job of it cause it costs money and there is no immediate bprofit

My understanding is that we are trying to, but with the vastness of space and inability to look around the sun, it is a very difficult process.

We REALLY need to spend more time and money mapping these things before we get dinosaured

There's a surprisingly large amount of people on this sub who reflexively default to rudeness. I still remember my introduction to r/space 5 years ago when I made an aerospace joke and some guy responded to me with "That's only with Boeing aircraft, this is an Embraer. Don't try to join in with a community you clearly don't belong in". As I was just starting my Aerospace bachelor back then, it has kinda stuck with me as a reminder that no matter what field you go, people can be horrible and elitist for no reason.

While I personally do not believe in any spirtualism/astrology/mysticism, and typically debunk it on reflex when I see it in the wild, I'm sorry to say that this is a very unfriendly subreddit for you to find yourself in.
Even those firmly rooted in the hard sciences can find this subreddit a bit toxic at times, so I'm sorry you're on the recieving end of the brunt of it for asking an innocuous question.

I think you're looking for r/drugs or something, my dude.
I like a nice meditation and/or psychedelic-induced flight of fancy through the universe as much as the next modern-day hippie, but I know I haven't actually left the room in any way, shape or form. Lol.
This sub is for actual outer space. You know, science news. JWST images. Last time I checked anyway. Maybe it's turning into a tinfoil hat club without me having noticed.

Astral projection is just lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming is a cool phenomenon where you're aware that you're dreaming while you're dreaming. Astral projection, as are other out of body experiences, a type of hallucination / lucid dream in which a person is just revisiting places they know or dream reconstructions that never match reality.

I mean, this size is more on the same scale as the meteor from the Tunguska event and would “just” blast a city in the worst of luck, not an extinction event. I do get what you’re saying though.
