Very basically speaking, the gravity from the black hole and the velocity of the orbit around it would result in a *relative* slowing of time by an observer further away.

That’s hyperbole to you pal. /s
As for the rest of your response, I should state again that I was on a public vip tour. How much can I glean from standing next to it that Space X or any other competitor couldn’t get from available photos? Or for that matter, couldn’t a Space X employee just take a public tour and steal all their IP? It’s nonsensical.

Obvious overstatement on that last sentence...I'll not even address that part further.
But as a government (space, defense) contractor, they have to have a default stance regarding IP. How do they know ahead of time what part of any project will be critical to keep secret? They don't.

/star/ is pronouncing the * in the name. The asterisk is a convention denoting its relationship to a "parent" object (Sag. A)

Basically, it was a butt hurt political decision. He chose Alabama because they supported the stop the steal bullsit and voted for him, whereas Colorado did not.

Not to pick on you, but technically you get time dilation any time you speed up relative to what your speed was previous. I think people have been able to prove this experiment with long-haul commercial flights and fantastically accurate clocks.

paywalled. What does the article say, I have not heard anything from the mainstream space journalists about this up till now.

I know what you’re saying but my point is, if they had the secret sauce, protecting it makes a lot of sense.
They can’t get anything right so what are they protecting?

Uh, theyre not saying that. Their eventual goal is 95%. That means they only have to shed about a ton off, but none of that will really lower the part count much-which is there first goal(which suceeded). They made a rocket with 100x fewer parts than others and you're calling it a failure. Lol

But it’s a black hole a collapsed star. Why call it a star still?

Fortunately this is a fixed price contract, so Boeing only gets paid as they meet milestones.
