Tons of good free agent RBs out there and the '23 RB draft class is loaded...I'm sure the Chargers have no problem letting him go explore his options and when he doesn't get the demand he's expecting he can go back to the table and accept the current offer on the table.

My father was a star track and field athlete in high school, and he learned how to high jump with the scissor kick method, and they would land in a sand pit! This guy, plus the foam pits revolutionized the sport.

FYI my dad cleared 6’6” in 1968, I never got past 4’10”, big disappoint 😂

I don’t like the additional teams but groups of three with 2 group games each was going to make collusion inevitable.

My 48 team WC system

Teams 1-16 (based off qualifying start with a bye.

Teams 17-48 play a single game do or die game

Winners of single elimination game are entered into groups with the 1-16 teams and then a typical WC schedule begins.

You’d get more teams in the WC and create 16 more knock out games without messing with the previous format after the do or die games. Also no 3rd place teams get into the knockout rounds

Dick lived here in Idaho and came to my town every year as the chairman of the Simplot Games, a premier high school indoor track and field meet that draws more than 2000 kids each year. His star power enabled him to bring other Olympic gold medalists to Pocatello for the event.
Dick was kind, funny, a competitive teaser with other Olympians, and just a pleasure to be around. I’m lucky to have known him. He will be sorely missed.

Yes, assuming you have two players of equal skill then knowing their tendencies is obviously better.

You are arguing that random unsigned dudes should consistently strike out major league pitchers at a higher rate than guys with professional scouting and arms warranting tens of millions of dollars.

I wouldn’t call Soto the best hitter in the MLB right now (that’s not to say he isn’t good, he’s put up numerous all star caliber seasons before he’s even turned 25) but he’s still only 24 and has only played four (combined) full seasons. I’d say Aaron Judge is currently the best hitter in the MLB atm (because he just put up one of the best offensive seasons in MLB history, as well as multiple other all star campaigns).

I will say, Soto probably does have the best hold on the strike zone, I mean two seasons in a row with at least 135 walks is just ridiculous. With how young he is, it’s a definite possibility he becomes a truly dominating force in the MLB in the coming years.

Anyways this is just semantics and opinion lol, doesn’t really mean anything.
