Somebody searched for "baseball team celebrating" without much critical thinking. Bananas used to be a CPL / college summer ball team that is basically an all Am team as far as I understood those rules.

No, the Sand Gnats were a totally unrelated team that also happened to be located in Savannah. They relocated to Columbia, SC in 2016 and changed their major league affiliation to the Kansas City Royals in 2021.

YES! I don't know much about sports, so when my brother asked me to fill out a bracket I pretty much just picked the top seed unless it was a university I liked/recognised. I missed Furman, Penn state, and Maryland, but got everything else right... including Princeton! The NCAA site put me about the top 6000 and the hundredth percentile with it's upset scoring method.

They are formerly the Sand Gnats, who were a Mets minor league affiliate.

The same fella owned another CPL team, the Gastonia Grizzlies, and was known for crazy promos and shit like a concessions item called the trash can nachos, and "all you can drink and eat" tickets. They had someone on staff whose title was "The Ticket Leprechaun" (hi Jake!)

The owner Jessie was always dressed in a yellow suit, like a cross between The Man in the Yellow Hat from Curious George and Gatsby.

I imagine a lot of the meals the players got looked much like the ones in the pictures about shitty food, and the players' host families for the Summers did a bulk of the good feeding.

I guess maybe they saw something in him. He was pitching over 100 mph. Maybe it does take a little more than asking.

“Hey man, bring me my gun. Me and my buddy are gonna walk 5+ miles to outside the city limits at 2 in the morning to find a safe spot for some target practice and then walk back” really seems something that seems plausible?
