A grand tradition of terrible sports team names for DC teams. The last good team name was the Washington Senators and they left 60 years ago

Yes T20. Franchise leagues are only played in T20 formats.

They should be quite successful. Wiki says there are over 6 million South Asians in the USA. Many of those will be fully Americanised and have no interest in cricket, but if even 15%-30% decide are interested that’s an immediate market of 1-2 million. Plus any Caribbean viewers and finally Americans without a cricket heritage.
The real question for me is what format will they play? I’m assuming T20 and not Test.

Just visit a city with big immigrants populations and you will see how many people care and play. This league is appealing to immigrants.

I don't know about the relaxing part much mate. There are times when I feel like having a heart attack, especially if you are a New Zealand supporter.

As I said earlier, they are not trying to appeal to the mainstram audience or compete with baseball. They are only trageting the immigrants population where the demand is plenty. There are many small local leagues and divisions already.

I'm definitely a basketball guy. That said, I watched the Preds play (im from nashville) and did root for them because, yay, hometown!
My knee is shot though, so I'll leave the rough housing to the pros :)
I live in Michigan now, though, so I believe it's time for me to learn to love it!

There is a Washington team for the this league, called Washington Freedom, I don't think a name can get more American than that 😂

The Premiere Hockey Federation is in their playoff push for the Isobel Cup. All their games are available on ESPN+ if you have it and care to watch. I love hockey at every level. Olympic women's hockey is my favorite winter Olympic event. The rivalry between the US and Canada is super intense. I was so stoked to watch the US beat Canada for Gold for the first time in 20 years back in 2018. It was an intense game. There was a great overhead shot of the game winning goal that was my phone background for 2yrs.

Prior to Covid there was actually a Canadian tournament called the Global T20 Canada. Had 6 teams. https://gt20.ca/ Will be interesting to see if it is re-launched or teams join MLC.

I've never played hockey, can hardly skate (I've done so twice at 31) and don't watch any games.
That Disney movie is one of my favorites

No I went in early 2000s. It was a camp put on by Jeff Jordan who was the coach at St Paris Graham high school. They were so dominant back then, not sure about now though.
Edit: never mind they still are. They’ve won the state tourney every year since 2001.
