That’s true when it comes to the players’ personal lives but not when they’re suiting up for their job.

Like, a player is getting paid by the org to rep what the org reps.

If the team wants to put a “wish.com” patch on your jersey after you signed a 4 year 50M dollar deal, you gotta wear the jersey and the patch. If a player doesn’t like the design of the New Jerseys, it doesn’t matter that they “don’t like it”. Still gotta wear it. …PERIOD.

This isn’t any different.

look, i agree that no one should be forced to wear something they don't want to wear (although many people have to wear things like uniforms for their jobs, but you know what i mean). but when we are in a world in which people are trying to legislate trans people out of existence, attacking drag for no reason, and the most recent GOP party platform still is against gay marriage or gay people being able to adopt, then being vocal and open in your show of support really is a powerful thing.

That aside -- I'm sure your daughter does not expect you to do any of that, and I wouldn't expect my parents to either, but I'm sure she wouldn't be upset to see you do so.

Here's a preview of the story:

Ali Krieger, a soccer star known for her impressive defensive skills and leadership on and off the field, announced on "CBS Mornings" Thursday that she is retiring from professional soccer.

"This is the right time for me," she said. "I've given so much to the game, and I've gotten a lot in return. But I feel it. My body also feels it."

Krieger has been an integral part of U.S. women's soccer for more than a decade, making more than 100 appearances with the U.S. Women's National Team. She currently plays for Gotham FC, a member of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) — and plans to retire at the end of the league's season.

In her final season, she has a last chance to win a title that has eluded her.

"I see the 2023 season as an opportunity to celebrate with our fans and my fellow players, but make no mistake - my entire focus is on winning the NWSL championship with Gotham FC," Krieger said in a news release.
