Honestly I can vouch for the discord building friendships. In my time there I've seen more then one new friendship blossom, at least one relationship, and there's been regular meetups established for some time.
Otherwise like they said, you gotta go to the places to meet the people.

Is Burrell better? I've heard bad things about them as well, but if it's better I will look into it

Yeah, I was going because I just wanted to keep getting my meds, but I'm just done after this week. I have been trying to get in touch with the nursing staff and they won't answer or call back

I switched from Eustasis to Burrell. I had numerous terrible experiences with Eustasis for the year that I went there.

I feel like there may be context we're missing here? So what I say may or may not be relevant to you depending on that context - but at least for finding friends, in my experience requires putting yourself out there, be it in the local discord (linked from this reddit), in social events in town, at clubs, in facebook groups about your interests, etc.
When theres stigma around part of your lived experience/identity, or have particular values that are important to you that you want people you trust to be as emotionally intimate as friends are, it can reduce the pool of Potential Friends a bit, for sure. But I think it's important to be mindful of which areas and in which ways you're trying to make friends, and reflect on if youre exposing yourself to a group of people who you're likely to connect with in that way with what you're trying.
I think something else folks sometimes stumble with is putting things on a really high pedestal that comes w a lot of expectations, or doing other stuff that makes it really intimidating or not as safe feeling, emotionally, to potential friends, for them to try to get close to you? So sometimes reflecting on if anything can adjust there might help too.
Otherwise, really, I think the secret ingredient is just: genuine connection really truly takes Time.

Right?! I'm all for better bike lanes, pedestrian pathways and better public transit but let's not act like we're all gonna find that extra date per year by cycling and walking. Also, I would assume bus stops and busses would be more like airports where people put in AirPods and keep to themselves. Anecdotally, I see drivers having social hour all the time with calls, messages and FaceTime anyway.

Greenlight is already promoting that they'll be selling recreationally in February. Considering that that's the earliest the state can hand out licenses, I don't know if they were told ahead of time that they were approved, or what.
My preferred dispensary is The Farmer's Wife, but they haven't indicated anything like that.

I would say the more affluent parts when I go on the northside people seem much more open and friendly

Cars are bad!!
mikesgarbageart t1_j2u8rjr wrote
Feel this hard. Springfield is way too heavily car dependent. Biking is dangerous due to the lack of bike lanes and half the time there aren't side walks. Humans need those small interactions on the day to day that aren't just from a drive-thru or Walmart. Car dependency makes us hostile and lonely.

I've had a pretty good experience with them. I've been going there for 9 months now, and the only complaint I have is that lately, (within the last month or so) I've been having trouble getting the nurses or receptionists to answer or return phone calls, so that has been a pain.
