My first job out of college was a local healthcare software company. I went remote after two years - the tech scene in Springfield seems pretty sparse.

I don't get Dark Tourism. Like.....go to any major city. Stand on any random spot on the sidewalk. There you go, you are within a hundred feet or so of where someone has died. Once of those building adjacent to you, probably more than one of them, someone has died in it.

Throw a dart at the map. Unless you are in a very very remote area, where ever that dart hit, some one lived there, died there, or very close by. Something fucked up and spooky or bad happened either right exactly there or very close to there at some point to someone.

Seems to me like pretty much any random spot could be "dark tourism" depending on how much research you are able to do and how detailed the records are.

Unless you are talking about specifically like old prisons or abandoned orphanages or psych wards or whatever, that I do get, that's pretty cool, but if dark tourism is just "someone died here" or "something fucked up happened here".....well that's pretty much everywhere that people have been.

Silversprings Apartments is pretty good. I live in a 2 bed 1 1/2 bath and I pay $650.

What did they do? Last time I was in there it looked like a Verizon store had a baby with Sharper Image and it was a botched delivery.

Can’t be a shrink stoppage because a lot of product was not spider locked. I know that never stopped anyone before. But yeah, I didn’t get that warm cozy Best Buy feeling when I went in last week.

Sorry, it looks like a Costco in there

I worked there '97-'99 and I went in before Christmas. I couldn't identify a single landmark to help anchor my memories except for the customer service desk. Products are laminated pieces of paper that say "give this to a Blue Shirt to receive item". I guess it's a shrink stopping move but there is something so impersonal/demeaning about being merely a "Blue Shirt". I just walked out and amazon'd what I needed.
