I didn't know there was a doc about it. Thanks I'll give it a watch.

You mentioning the Doc reminded me, there is also the Tar Creek Superfund site just a few hours over on the Oklahoma Kansas border. That place is very interesting to drive around and look at.

Also all of the buildings are demolished now, but it's one of the most polluted sites on earth, deemed by the EPA to be permanently unfit for human habitation, essentially for the rest of time. The whole town was bought out and relocated like a decade ago, with the exception of two families that refused to move and are now the only inhabitants.

There is also a doc about it that watch after visiting the place.

Cairo is such an interesting town. It has a very long, and pretty sad history. There’s a documentary called Between Two Rivers that’s worth a watch if you’re interested in it. I would pass through when I’d travel to Nashville and it always piqued my interest as to why it’s the way it is now

The only downvoted comments are one guy talking about hustle culture and another guy accusing them of microwaving his food. It's okay if you don't enjoy it, but those two aren't adding anything to the discussion, hence the downvotes. I personally am not. Huge fan of Crosstown, but to each their own. They're just not my style of BBQ.

The last time I walked past Hollywood Theater (because I never go downtown anymore, really) there were literally, like, 8 to 10 high school aged kids just brawling on the steps. I shouted a few "Get 'em in a headlock" and then I walked off before the cops came.

Moureys Flooring, on West Battlefield.
Do your homework on the wear, and durability of whatever you're looking at. I screwed up and went with an acacia product because I was set on the color and distressed look. They told me it was more susceptible to scratching and chipping, but I thought I could be cautious enough all the time.
5 years later , I wish I went with a harder wood product.

Reply to Dealerships? by [deleted]

All of these people saying $3500 is not enough are crazy in my opinion. My old college roommate, whom is now a psychologist, STILL TO THIS DAY drives the same 1990 something Toyota Camry. Never had any issues with it. I think he had $1000 in the car, before it got hit. The people paid him out for the damage and he pocketed it, leaving him with negative money in the car, let alone a car payment.

TLDR: If you really want to avoid car payments (I am right there with you and applaud that), there are options out here. The first few responses I read did not give me much hope that message was being conveyed and I KNOW it definitely very possible. Goodluck with your search. ALSOOOO.. if you are willing to pay cash, why use the dealership? I would check out facebook marketplace and craigslist and wait for a good deal to pop up, heck maybe its a car for $4200 that you get them to agree to $3500 on.. A dealership is going to sell you on the opposite.. a $2750 car they sold you for $3500 + silly fees. I would avoid that if it was up to me.
