I used to work for that company. They care about money, that's it. Trust me you will be better off at any other apartments. I seen things I will never be ok with my kids living in at several locations.

Do you like staying there?

Once or twice a year My husband and I will get a weekend break when one of our parents comes to town and they stay at our house with our two little kids while we get to go have a night or two away from the kids. We always get a hotel and have a night or two alone. The last couple of times this has happened I’ve been tempted to reserve our room at vandivort but haven’t actually done it yet. They are a little more pricey but I’m assuming it’s worth it? I’ve been waiting to hear from someone who’s stayed there to find out if they say it’s for sure worth it or not

Also the hotel on sunshine and glenstone, I believe it’s call VIB… they rented to us once when we had an emergency at our house (furnace went out in winter and landlord couldn’t get someone to us for 48 hours) We decided to get a hotel and they happened to be like the first or second one we called… we explained the situation and after being put on hold for a minute, the guy came back on said no problem. No deposit was required and the rooms were really nice. The guy at the front desk even gave us 20% off when we arrived to check in and pay. I don’t know the hotels SOP when renting to locals but they were amazing when we needed them

I know Baymont inn, arbor suites by the mall and oasis hotel on north glenstone will rent to locals if you put down a deposit.

I’ve done this personally at both oasis and arbor suites. Both places let me pay the deposit in cash and gave it back to me upon checkout after looking at the room

Idk if they have student specific rentals, but At Home Here will rent to students. My apartment is very near campus and had semester length leasing options, and we do have some students. We signed for a year because it's nice and we're just settled lesbians living here o_o

Yes, we are seriously looking into a good pricing model to deliver within the area. I'm sorry to hear about the quality of produce, though with organic regulations its very hard for growers to keep them away because it's limited to certain pest control options and what is exactly used.

With lettuces or anything really grown ground level like that, you will want to do a good wash. Going forward, to err on the side of caution, you can do as my grandma used to do & fill your sink with cold water, add a capful of white vinegar & about 1/2 cup salt and wash the lettuce or greens by gently scrubbing and rinsing them with your hands in bunches. (the pests will come off in the water). Then lay on a flat paper towel, use another paper towel to pat dry. This is more for the loose leaf lettuces and greens like collards, but it always came out pretty and tasty!

We are not certified organic, (the price tag on that is a bit high, but we will be seeking grant aide for it going forward) but do hold to the same practices. Weedkiller, fungicides, Etc. are all No-No's here! We are doing intercrop intensive planting with natural pest control options (encouraging pollinators and predator insects, like ladybugs, etc., planting trap crops and so on ) we also know that not all of our produce will be blemish free but we will do our best 💪 😉

As far as the animal products (for those interested) we will have some available as the seasons go on, but cheeses are regulated by the USDA and State Milk Board, there's a whole facility setup, approval, inspection, etc. and that's not something we are able to do financially.

Now, with Raw Goats Milk, that is something we can offer, especially if the bill moves past the Senate to allow raw milk sales for retail! 🤞🤞🤞

Good to hear!

Definitely understand that, my youngest is so picky (mainly texture) on her veggies, she likes raw carrots, but not cooked, raw broccoli, not cooked, & dont let her catch a SINGLE sliver of onion or mushroom on anything or the whole thing has been contaminated according to her 🤣 though, if I blend it all up into a sauce she has no clue they're there. #momhacks

As for spoilage we will be giving out handy reference material to get the most out of your produce for the longest as we are 100% for no waste!

Lamb may be a possibility in the future depending on demand, currently we will have chevon though if you prefer lamb or only eat it due to kosher requirements, I understand.

It's always worth keeping in touch on, and I appreciate the feedback as well. It helps us plan ahead to meet food desires/needs of our community. Tyvm! 🤗

Why didn’t he just donate the $ to the GoFundMe, or take it to the attorney’s office? He said as soon as KY3 contacted him, he went to the family’s attorney’s office, rather than call or email more. I have no stake in this. But it feels fishy. It feels weird. Even in Patrick’s own admission, he said his restaurant was about to close due to hardships he was experiencing at the time this all occurred. Meh. I don’t eat there, won’t ever eat there, and don’t care one way or another. I just know he had options and chose not to use those options.

I completely agree, with the farm location we may end up having to do deliveries as a subscription service or a meet and pick up at one of the farmstand or farmers market places due to overall costs of gas etc. Our aim is to keep our food as affordable as possible and not go into debt doing it 💪

Thank you!!

Terrible look for the restaurant owner. He was contacted many times. He ignored them all. The family never asked for the fundraiser... while I'm sorry the man is having money problems, it does not excuse his behavior. He had every chance to make it right and make this go.away before the story got picked up and chose time after time to not deal.with it. Then more excuses as to why he won't release the money... bad deal, bad look.

On the parents getting shit on in the comments: I feel like that's the problem with people these days. Those comments are horrific, but it seems par for the course for these parts. They have lost all sense of compassion. And a small part of me feels like some are especially vitriolic because the family isn't white. Of course, Pat isn't either, but "he's the good kind who's done good for us etc etc". I just don't think the comments would be quite the same if it was a nice white middle class family.

Plus the number of comments saying KY3 is like all other media (liars)/NBC affiliate/etc. It's the damn MAGA talking points about the big scary "mainstream media". Ashley Reynolds is a citizen of our community, not some scary Liberal Communist Satan worshipper or whatever the hell people are enraged with these days. Her report genuinely seemed to give a fair shake at the story from both sides, and I think Pat gave his honest to God truth on his mistakes and ownership of the situation.
