When I visited early this summer, I was super impressed with Mae's. Loved that place, I really hope they do well.

You were pursuing a similar line of thought with me in the other thread.
As far as I'm concerned now, he delivered the money, he apologized, he took responsibility publicly, so he's done all he can. It's not like he has a time machine, and his previous actions indicate that he started this to help the family, not to score social media points or profit from it.
I don't find anything he did unforgivable, or even close to it. I've made mistakes in my life, I don't know anyone who hasn't, so I try to extend the same grace to others that I would have extended to me.

I’m a proud graduate of the city motorcycle cop speeding ticket court diversion program…I was a speeder but just stopped after being on diversion for 6 months.
The city needs a new model…one motorcycle cop for speed rarely addresses deeper issues. A team of two, such as running the light at chestnut and Kansas would pay out…but a 3 person team of one observer and two downstream cops…one on a pullover and the other waiting would address a lot of more technical issues in traffic.
Speed is not always the biggest issue. There are a ton of other unsafe actions.

I can’t win here. I have received at least 10 comments from people to stop posting because everyone thinks I’m using it for my publicity. Then if I’m more quiet, I get more comments like yours. It doesn’t matter what I do, everyone that’s upset with me will find a reason to fault me again, and again, and again.
What’s important here is i did right by the family. They accepted my apology, and I have offers my support to them letting them and their lawyer know that I will be there for them for anything they need.
I don’t expect you to understand not being in my shoes. But I’m doing what I can for the family, whether you see it or not

I just saw Holdfast posted a trivia night picture on Instagram. I don’t know anything more than that, but could be fun!

I’m all for more traffic enforcement. I’ve dealt with way too many dead drivers. But being as I don’t drive that stretch much, is that really some hotspot for fatality accidents?
I’d much rather see them dealing with all the tailgaters and general psychos on 65 and 60 during rush hour.

Idk, a bike cop sitting out in the open checking for speeders doesn’t sound very nefarious to me. You know how fucking fast people go down national right there?

I’ve said my piece all over the internet. Those that still continue to send negative comments, bash, etc. I totally understand. I accept responsibility for my actions, and understand there are consequences. If my restaurant suffers from it, or whether I keep getting hate comments, etc. I understand, those are the consequences.
2 things I will say, and I will just leave it at that and hope we can all move on from this.

Please keep my family out of it. Wishing death upon my kids is crossing the line. I get wanting me to suffer, or my business to suffer, but kids are innocent, let’s leave them out of it. (No, no one from Reddit. But FB has had a couple)
-
No matter how much negativity or shade is thrown my way, it will not change who I am or what I do. I will continue to do good by our community. I will pray and wish everyday that most can find it in their hearts to one day forgive me. Those that gave me a chance to make it right and were able to forgive me, I appreciate you. I’m sorry if I made anyone doubt my intentions, and I promise you my heart is and always will be in the right place.

The host is the GM and he has been hosting and writing trivia there for something like 7 years!
There’s 4 rounds: General knowledge Speed Visual Music
They have small prizes every round and gift certificates for money off your tab the next trivia night!

I am a huge NPR fan. And that’s great too know, it does sound like a good deal. Galloway Station has shit food so we’ve stopped eating there on trivia nights. I’d much prefer SBC food. I assume it’s $20/person?

I was wondering this too cause I checked their Facebook page and every week had a movie or TV era/topic listed. I was worried it was all movies and TV which wouldn’t be good for our group.

Yeah I get it but they do feed you and the food both times has been really good. And they give you two free beers. So really the $20 is worth it and it’s hosted by Kyle and Lauryl who used to do the trivia at Patton Alley. And if you like what NPR does then the money is for a good cause.
