Budget also needs to be considered.

Though I wouldn't recommend going to a $200 restaurant for a first date, if budget is no issue at all then we have a great selection of fine dining.

Or maybe you pick up some Taco Bell on your way to Andy B's?

My wife and my favorite date nights weren't the most expensive or well thought out plans, it was the fun we had at wherever we were. I would not recommend a movie for a first date though, sitting awkwardly next to a date you can barely talk to for two hours.

Ya basically something like, "don't be gay, hate gays, pray a lot, fight woke, own libs, get the groomers, don't jack off, stop porn, stop playing video games, make wife cook and clean and be quiet, white Jesus white Jesus" and all that other Christian nationalism shit. Oh and "buy my new book, "Man Hood!"".

The naysayers definitely didn't care about affordable housing or luxury housing.

Nimbyism is tough, if I lived next to it, I don't know that I'd be different. But overall we all have to take a look and ask what's good for the whole community.

Last point, affordable housing in the low income sense is a thing that exists well in Springfield. What we need, like everyone else, is blue collar/workforce housing. The problem is, there's just not grants out there promoting that. You can get up to 10% back from the government for affordable low income property construction, or you could make up the same money by building luxury. There's just no money in building average to basic apartments.

Agree with the other commenter that more context about interests, budget, etc would help a lot here

As a generic answer, though, roller/ice skating is fun, both of which you can do in Springfield

I personally don’t like movies for a first date but the Alamo is a good spot for dinner/drinks and a show

Check out the blue room comedy club! Some great shows go on there

There’s some businesses around town that offer date night classes/sessions for a variety of activities like baking, painting, pottery making, dancing, etc. makes for a great experience to remember!

Edit: some more places/activities lol

Big shot golf, Basically any mini golf place, 1984, Bowling, TommyHawks axe throwing, Wonders of Wildlife aquarium

I’ve been saying that for 20 years. In its earlier phase Springfield did an amazing job with it’s master plan, but then totally dropped the ball. I said 20 years ago they need to start on the freeway because it takes that long to build, and we were growing at an expansive rate.

15 years ago they said Christian and Greene county would triple in size and that the towns would grow together. That literally happened. So why the hell didn’t they plan for the traffic. 20 years ago there was no need for a freeway - traffic was non existent. They knew the growth was coming.

The few things I know about her is that she has a law degree but chose to work for Jim Arnott at the Greene County Sheriff’s Office processing Sunshine Requests and is or was a Republican Committeewoman in Greene County.

The VA hospital here has a pretty decent range of options if needed.

I don’t know your age…the old school VFW vs newer vets seems like a reasonable difference of generations. I think most new vets prob don’t have a modern VFW hall.

But the area overall is vet supportive and some places welcome veterans for employment.

I’m not a vet, but have anything from a retired MC stepfather to seeing someone who barely made it through a 4yr enlistment…but is now “a vet”…

I highly suggest you take a few days and visit the area and look around.

I found the wormhole and hit ZERO lights that stretch SB today. It was 5p. That’s NEVER happened before.

A lack of overall master planning is the big issue in that section and it will prob never get better.

Are you new to Springfield? JRA has been very problematic, for a long time. They've got that 'prosperity gospel' thing going on. They have also been 'character witnesses' for a parishioner who had 1000's of images on his computer, the kind of stuff that usually gets a long prison sentence, but not in general population. Hawley is practically the poster child for their brand of 'christianity'...
