As was I. I try to treat people the way I wish I had been treated. That's not to say you don't. For all I know you responded to the bootstraps mentality favorably, and so that's what you believe is helpful to other people.

My parents worked at a nursing home, so we spent about a week sleeping in my mom's office because we had no power, and they could not leave. At least they had generators though so there was minimal heat.

Their birria tacos are good, I'd say on par with the stuff I've had in TJ. But you should try actual birria at some point. The tacos are good, but birria is a whole experience especially if it's made the way it's supposed to be. With goat, not beef.

It's not a hard recipe, but difficult to perfect. I've tried to impress my friends back home but they're always like "nah, it's missing something" but never can explain what it is.
