I live near a price cutter. It’s the nearest grocery store. I’ll continue to shop there. I guess I’ll just check the dates if I’m that concerned about it, but it’s never been a big problem, so I’m not really worried about this.

For those who don't mind food past its best by date, Discount Freight and Grocery has some really awesome deals in Ozark. I found the dry goods can be a bit touch and go but they also had a lot of freezer items that you can get great deals on.

Usually PSU will host various "new students" events, and a lot of the various student organizations will throw events around the start of the semester to get folks interested in their groups, but are a good place to meet people even if you aren't necessarily interested in the group itself.

There probably won't be anything on there now, but the msu calendar lists a lot of them closer to the semester, and there will be flyers all over psu those few weeks before classes start back up

I would suggest buying on the south side! North side Springfield is sort of sketchy, but has some really nice options for fixer uppers if you don’t mind sketchy! Sequiota Park is my favorite! It’s very pretty and a nice place to take dogs for walks! Phelps Grove park is also pretty nice, but a lot of people walk their dogs there! People are bad drivers but I think most of Springfield is nice! There’s lots of nice thrift stores and coffee shops, and downtown is lovely!!

I can only speak to my ordering for a laboratory but I know I was ordering anything and everything from anywhere just trying to restock supplies. When the bottlenecks eased, I was shipped a ridiculous amount of supplies. I'm guessing something similar happened with stores.

Hey welcome, soon-to-be new resident!

For the dog walking part, I can attest that we have lots of lovely parks in the area for exercising your pup. We als have an off-leash dog park that I think is kind of 'meh', but there are lots of lovely natural places.

As for other things: we have more restaurants/fast food places than you could swing a dead cat at, we all drive like madmen, and about 78% of the population is pretty nice.

Good luck in your move and I hope you like it here.

I’ve been buying mine off eye buy direct the last few years. Just get your exam done somewhere in town & ask for a copy of it. I got a pair of prescription sunglasses & blue light blocking glasses for like $115 a few months ago. I got an email the other day that they’re doing buy one get one free right now.

Just posting to say that I have found so many expired things at the National/St. Louis location when I still lived over there. Haven’t had problems at the one nearest to me now but their pricing is totally out of wack

Use quickfix if tested. If you work in manual labor and get injured, you can get fucked over. But past that, don’t stress about what you do off the job, just don’t post anything that can lead back to you that your employer could potentially see of what you do at home.

that date makes even more insane really. like you said said mustard doesnt really go bad. so that means these have been sitting since 2021 or so as it normally has about 1 to 2 year shelf life

I noticed that from the National/repub one as well. The employees always look so defeated and as much as I want to support them, it makes me wonder if this location is not getting the best treatment from higher ups.

Ever since Hy-vee opened up on sunset, I’ve been going out of my way to shop there and try to avoid price cutter when I can because I’ve had that same issue with past “Best By” and experience diary products.
