Expiration/best by date conversation aside, I live near this store but try to avoid going to it because every time I go, I get dark energy from the employees lol. There is one in particular that I see there every time I go who is constantly aggressively talking about stuff very loudly with his coworkers, sometimes insulting other coworkers or talking about drama in the store. I even recently heard one call another the r-word, and I wasn’t the only customer around when he said it lol.

Thank you! Looking forward to the change. Luckily my son lives in Springfield so he'll help me navigate until I get my bearings.

The union gets a bad rep on the subreddit on here but locally it’s really good imo. At least when I was still a postal worker

Wow, yes, a huge change that will take a lot of getting used to! Honestly, as someone who has lived with dogs in springfield and elsewhere, (and as an urban planner), I find the dog walking to be of relatively low quality within the city— it’s extremely car dependent with a lot of noise and poor pedestrian infrastructure. There are greenways, but they’re pretty boring in general and not practical to make a loop out of. There is a nice watershed park north of the city called Valley Water Mill which makes for a lovely little hike around a lake in woods, and as far as neighborhoods go Rountree as another person mentioned and Phelps Grove are great quiet places with good side walks.

It's all price cutters. Just saw multiple shopping carts of pulled out of dates at the chestnut and bypass location. National and republic road is one of their slowest volume stores. The owner keeps a number of these turtle stores open just so Walmart doesn't swoop in and take the land after shutting one down.

I bought frozen pizza at the St Louis location that was expired once and didn’t notice until I put it in the oven. I check everything from there now. Unfortunately that is the closest grocery store to me or I wouldn’t shop there so often.

Can confirm that Food 4 Less is not union. Wife used to work there.

Ozarks Coca-Cola is with teamsters 245. They start their hourly full time employees around $20 and goes up to $27 depending on department.

I'll be coming from eastern Massachusetts. It's going to be a huge change for me!
I walk my dog mostly at a cranberry bog nearby. We also love the woods.

You must have incredible insurance. I can't get glasses there for nearly that cheap.

Pepsi teamsters union is weak as fuck. The health insurance is great but that's it they didn't do shit otherwise It was basically a non-union job with the same old shit. Most unions in Springfield are in cahoots with management.
Also the "black mold" situation with Amazon was apparently something invented due to a dozen or so employees deciding they were a union.

Thanks for the responses I’ve gotten so far. Any ones that install customer supplied parts? Everywhere I call says they don’t install customer supplied parts :(

Where are you coming from? What kind of settings do you like to walk the dog in?

Check out apps like AllTrails. You can find a ton.
Springfield Lake, Ritter Springs Parks, Greenway Trail... There's a few but they're usually busy and on pavement. If you can get out of town a bit there are several more.

Yeah, mustard is one of those things that if left sealed, can last for many years without any risk. Honestly it is better not to waste the product in this case in my opinion.

SRC Heavy Duty East (SRC Whole Goods) has two openings for production assembly and production engineer, and will likely have one position for warehouse stock keeper soon (because I'm getting promoted). Best place I've ever worked, really could not recommend it more. Sign on bonus is still at $1K.
Apply at https://www.srcholdings.com/careers, navigate on the map to the east Kearney location near Strafford.
