Hey there, Springfield native… This really isn’t all that intense of a town one way or another politically. Stay away from the mega churches and you’ll have a good time. Lots of great food, lots of mountain bike and hiking trails, fishing, artwalk every Friday Spring to Fall…

I’ve lived in KC, NYC and here. Chose here to raise a family for the reasons above.

Our local plant has 2 unions that have won over 5.1 mil in grievance settlements over the last 3 years.. may not think they serve ur every interest but our locals here are doing a great job .. there is an article in the news leader from back in October 22 about it. Plenty of clerks , mail handlers and carriers clear 100k easy with OT and new clerks are all starting at 20 an hr now.

Ozark Greenways is a local non-profit that works to expand trail access in and around Springfield. Here's a link to their various trails (and a downloadable map to see everything): Ozark Greenways

I recommend the Fulbright Spring Trail off of Hwy 13 up near the zoo. Fellows Lake trail, or the Galloway trail.

As a former Price Cutter employee, I agree. My department once had 4 people closing per night, and ended up down to 2. Our prices are also a joke. Our lunch meat prices have skyrocketed since I left. American cheese used to be like 5-6 dollars/lb. Can’t remember. Now it’s like 8 dollars/lb

If u need a washer and dryer for a short term fix or wanna do a 90 or 120 days same as cash plan then rental stores are great! Just don't go the 2 or 3 year route that's when it gets crazy.... national TV rental and sales on kearney is good.

That’s weird they charge a fee for a consult. I’ve been there and never had that. The Beauty Factory requires a consultation but it’s free. I also recommend David Wenzel Salon and Bohemia. I’ve also had a good experience at La Luna, just expect to be there quite a while as it’s a school.

Unless your credit is completely shot, I wouldn't recommend rent to own. Those places are about as bad as the title loan companies.

If you can maybe apply for a Lowe's card, they have fixed low interest (7 or 8%) options for higher amounts. When my wife and I had no credit, we were approved for about $2,000 there.

You pay low wages you get low efforts. Nobody wants to make sure the newest stuff is in the back so that oldest stuff get sold first. Unfortunately they're not going to give a f*** they're just going to raise the prices Tell you to go f*** yourself and let things rot
