There are lots of "fixer uppers" and lots of trails to take dogs. Personally I like a spot down at RoundTree Public Access: https://maps.app.goo.gl/pwitJWqBvLeRXeUw6

There are lots of great places to eat, I have lots of favorites depending on types and mood. But, that's a whole other sub. Just dont fall victim of the "Springfield Cashew Chicken" hype. When I moved there people raved about it. I tried a number of places, just to be constantly let down. I warn because every time I tried a place, I was told... oh, you should try it here... or over there. 20 places and lots of dollars later I came to the conclusion that I dont like breaded chicken with Cashew-butter poured on top. (Opinion)

Depending on where your moving from, of course.

Lives on west college when I was renting and honestly I had fewer problems than when I purchased in a much nicer neighborhood.

A lot went on, but I was left alone. In the nicer neighborhood people are more apt to think I might have something they want.

WC had a lot of domestic incidents. I saw multiple police chases, including on foot through my yard. But rarely did anyone actually interfere with me or my property. A couple times drugged out people wandered into my backyard at weird hours but they were more lost than anything else. Once a stolen car was abandoned in the alley. Nothing concerning as far as personal safety.

Now I live in an affluent neighborhood smack in the middle of the north side and I’ve seen it all. Had a methed out couple try to walk in my front door in the middle of the day. Found a guy hiding on my back deck at 3am. Have had outdoor decorations stolen.

Nowhere in Springfield is crime free. 🤷‍♀️

Teamsters 245 represent a number of local manufacturers. It’s a mixed bag though. Husband and I are both union members with different employers, and we make way better money than we would otherwise, but the union isn’t as strong in other areas as we would like and it can feel like they’re “in bed” with the company sometimes.

You show on the item it says best by you but about expiration dates it's a best buy date not a expiration the stuff will be fine. Although if they're selling stuff past the best by date it should at least be reduced in price ....

Might help to post your age. Not that people should judge you based on being too young or old but a lot of people are comfortable with people in certain age ranges for a variety of reasons.

Do not go to discount freight and grocery! If you all show up there you won't leave any good deals for me!

I mean... They're... bad, them and their (checks receipt) cheap food. It's stale, stay out of that briar patch, etc., etc.

I swear to god if you run them out of jalapeno cheddar brats I will turn this internet around.

Another silver spoon in this country who has run his daddy's company into the ground and treated his employees like shit. Constantly reshuffles capital in opening and closing stores to fudge numbers. Was suppose to be union grocery business, later did I find out he's on it with your mandated measly .25 raise per year. Shop at Hy-Vee or mama jeans if you can afford them. At least they treat their people well.

Definitely not expired and I bet if you did a blind taste test with one that is fresher you’d not be able to tell the difference. Manufacturers started putting these dates on products to move more product IMO. Granted if I have a choice I’m buying the fresher product but if that product is discounted which I know it wasn’t but if it was I’d buy it hands down without concern!
