75 months a light sentence? Drunk drivers who kill people get less than that. I'm sure her party affiliation made all the difference. Not.

Zero remorse shown by her. Instead, she played the ol' feel bad for me card, as if she is the real victim here. She fit right in with her colleagues in the state government with that mentality.

The Judge went easy on her. 75 months when the sentencing guidelines bottom out at 87. It must be good to be an old white republican. He gave her a light sentence even though he found no contrition.

Sure don't. Just a regular. You can argue all you want but obviously you haven't been and don't know anything about the place. I just hate to see a hardworking business talked down about things that aren't true.

It seems like a fair sentence. Especially considering she never said she was sorry but thought it was a good idea to bring up being bullied as a child.

SEVERAL staff are members of the LGBTQA+ community. Several. The bar features flags of support for all. Extremely inclusive as a result of the hard work they've put in to negate incorrect opinions such as this.

This is 100% not true. The man in question is no longer affiliated with 417Taphouse (and hasn't been for well over a year) The owner is extremely LGBT friendly and is in no way affiliated with anything you've mentioned. In fact they are currently working on getting many inclusive events started. Please do some research before speaking out against a beloved local business.

She’s the worst and I’m glad to see her go. I know a lot of teachers and apparently she has a habit of showing up unannounced at parent teacher conferences, barging into classrooms and taking pictures, all without revealing that she’s a board member (huge no no)

If there was a group of teenage boys discussing their mental health struggles and a school broad member interrupted to interject themselves into the conversation--- is that low-key harmless?
"See, boys, most of you don't experience mental health issues - just half. It was super important I interrupt because my observations are more important than your voice being heard and this space feeling safe. I know it feels very vulnerable to discuss this subject matter among your peers. But I couldn't help myself. Go ahead and proceed."
Is that not derailing? Is it appropriate behavior for an adult? Are those boys overreacting? Would they continue to feel safe to speak openly?

There was more to her outburst than simply "challenging the amount of hands that went up." It was enough that a bunch of students sent letters to the school board and showed up to speak at the meeting.

Yea, I saw that. But I'm not worried about Shurita being removed, J Michael Hasty, of all people, complaining about ethics violations? Hilarious.
Also, he posted the allegations and "evidence" to his Queen City Watchdog group. She voted on some things instead of recusing herself, seems to be the extent of her involvement, and he's only started on her because she didn't put her hand over her heart during the pledge like a month ago.

Seems like it upset several children so that’s the harm. I’m personally wondering what is the motivation to correct someone like that and say “only a few hands went up”.
Like, is she that technical of a person that the statement needed to be corrected in that moment so we all live in truth or…? It just comes off as ignorant to the feelings of the kids.
Perhaps she is a little ticked off about the idea of having a director of diversity who is trying to “put trauma on” kids who don’t have it? Idk, I’m just trying to make sense of it.

Yes, this is a great suggestion! It’s located out on a farm where the only interaction they get I’m pretty sure is with the people who work there for CARE

The owner and his current girlfriend are confirmed Nazis. Search their names on Google. Or PM me for my story with them both.

The people in the room didn't feel it was harmless and that's what matters most. I was not there so I have to go based on what those that were there felt.

With all due respect I went to school with his girlfriend. She only dates nazis. I know of him and her very well. Feel free to PM me however, last I knew he was the current owner. Maybe you have more insight than I do. I’d be willing to delete my comment if it’s proved he is not the owner anymore and they are not still dating.
