Because it's a take/explanation that doesn't remotely encompass or explain the cross Atlantic Aldi situation. Aldi Nord and Sud are two separate companies, both of which have different American branches. So calling it "Americanized Aldi" is saying that it's the American version of two different stores, which is extra confusing because one of them is Aldi on both sides of the ocean.

Assuming this is Springfield City PD, you can do a six month no speeding violations issued by the city (other jurisdictions don’t count is my understanding) probation of sorts…no tickets for speeding means the ticket drops. I graduated the program and also just stopped feeding…I pass by cops without worrying about getting pulled over. Lot more sane way of life because I used to push it.

If getting off for court is an issue you can basically hire any traffic attorney in town for $100 or so who will do your appearance and ask for the program (make sure this is communicated). I’m not sure about other cities/counties/HP programs. That same $100 will prob get you an equipment violation plea instead of a ticket if this is a pretty rare thing for the driver.

But no, they likely will NOT send you a reminder because the ticket is your official summons. I would call during the coming workweek and confirm with the court clerk and the week before the date call and re-confirm…assuming you don’t hire a lawyer. My family is in LE and they normally have a board in the squad room that has the current court date for whatever jurisdiction they write the ticket for so it’s generally going to be correct. Assuming your address is correct from your registration, if it changes I would assume the court would send you a change of appearance date.

They actually did reach out to us, we were going to be interviewed today. They had to postpone and offered to do it later today I believe but the other party involved backed out and asked not to do it. I don't agree with the decision but like I said in the update, just respecting their wishes

From an enforcement standpoint the town has too much traffic on many roads to easily and safely go after traffic offenders for a single officer in traffic. You can’t just turn a you-ey on Campbell for simple traffic stuff. For some reason the PD still hasn’t figured out that they could do one cop calls in a violation and another cop 2 blocks away pulls the offender over in a much safer manner. It’s not ideal nor efficient and doesn’t have to be done every day but even a few days a month could set a precedent that there is a risk…

For instance I used to go through Ks and Chestnut frequently…the number of people who trail after a red light on left turns is non-stop. But instead they sit on the north side of Mueller to catch speeders on a divided road with almost no crossroads along the way. ProTip: they love to run radar on 30mph streets.

As someone who worked a crazy late shift, I have a soft spot for them. I don't like to gamble myself, but at least half the places still open when I get off work are open for the VLC machines. If I want a snack on my way home, I go to the Sinclair with the VLC. The only head shop I go to is Smoke Science because they're open late for VLC users. (Admittedly that one's pretty uncommon these days. So tired of scanning QR codes to find alt cannabis products that aren't scary.) If there was a grocery store open until 2am for VLC players, I'd be there once a week minimum. I don't even like to gamble with fake money in video games, but if someone else can have fun keeping a store open late for me, I'll take it.
