Teaching kids there is prejudice and privilege is not shaming them. They have not participated in or created the system. Teaching them about it, in my opinion, could lead to them learning from it and choosing to abandon it. They could, instead, create a system of equality and justice.

Thanks did not know that. Just a fly on the wall through some conversations thrown around about FD’s. It’s been since before 2017 that I worked for FD’s, my experience in the few months working in that kitchen would never draw me in as a customer, though. That’s just my personal anecdote, and one of many awful experiences I had in that restaurant.

Edit: might have been 2017 I don’t fucking remember.

Illinois politicians are the most corrupt of any other State, I swear. 😂 Growing up, we had so many nicknames for the general assembly folks and the governors. Rod Bag-of-Chips tried to sell Obama’s seat and my 8th grade History class was lit all year goofing, making fun of politicians. Don’t know how any of us passed our Constitution tests. Illinois politics exist to be made fun of. 🤣

It doesn’t feel like that for me in Ozark, but it did in Springfield. The rude and the rat race feeling. I will say, though, that folks in Ozark seem to be, in my experiences so far, a little more racist than folks in Springfield. A girl I worked with said she and her kids have been ostracized since they moved from Springfield to Ozark this year and I agreed that I had felt the same way, that people tend to steer clear if you’re not pasty white. I don’t know. Everyone has different experiences everywhere. I’m glad the Field is working out for you and you’re happy!! That’s all that matters for real.

You might want to brush up on CRT - both its actual concepts as well as what people put into and under the CRt umbrella. It's a minefield you are gonna have to navigate and it will pop up alot from enough potential voters.

That said, if you support having our kids learn about their privilege in school and that involves race, gender, identity, etc I'll have to resort to voting GOP cause at least they don't go down that avenue.

Not gonna let my kids get harrased and degraded by curriculum that shames or guilts them in anyway for their ancestors and overall history. (Basically what CRT does with the "power+privilege = racism so its okay to discriminate/advocate for racist policies against "white" people because they supposedly have structural and systematic privilege". (This is a big deal to me cause my kids can pass for white and im not inclined to let insane progs punish them for it.)
