Wow. Ok. One wonders what barbeque you do like.

thanks for verifying that it’s not just me! and i don’t mean to complain about the outage… this is the first significant one in the entire time that i have been a subscriber (which is almost two years)! i just wanted to make sure that it wasn’t anything on my end!

Crosstown is wonderful, everybody should try it once. I hope they can hold on. And go Thai Express!

This is the first outage we have had, but it has lasted about 7 hours now. Fortunate to still have cell phones to use as hot spots! I, too, spoke with bright speed. They said they are aware of it and have already submitted a repair ticket. Sucks, but it is still more reliable than the last guys...

Saying it's 'no worse than Rib Crib' seems like a pretty horrible way to shill for restaurant.

Dang. I hope the VERY best for him. I'll be visiting town for a week for the holidays and will make it a point to stop in.

(BTW I used to work with some current KOLR10 peeps at a rival station across town)

He does! I work for KOLR10 and we just did a live interview with him the other week. He was pretty down about how much they’ve been struggling :/

Definitely slipping. They used to be so good until recently :(

Unfortunately crosstown is an example of a springfield institution that doesn’t deserve it. Their food is awful and overpriced.

The construction isn’t killing their business, it’s just the last nail in a coffin that should have been closed years ago.

Legit BBQ options springing up in town over the past decade were what did them in.

I know nothing of the owner, many people say he’s a nice guy. But that doesn’t mean your business should succeed.

Also, Hold Fast Brewery usually has game nights or trivia or stuff like that on Wednesdays.

If you enjoy dancing, Dance with Me has drop in classes for $10 at the Savoy on Commercial. I believe tonight is waltz at 6:30 and line dancing at 7:30. Also here's a list of bands playing, I can personally vouch that Justin Larkin (folk/guitar) Shaun Munday (bass guitar) are both extremely good. Ruthies never disappoints with whoever they'll have. (all credit goes to Blues Society of the Ozarks who puts this together every week)

When I was a kid, I would go there all the time. The last time I was there- 5ish years ago- they heated my ribs in the microwave. The microwave. I haven’t returned since.

Does Steve still own the place? I used to visit there often when I lived in SGF and would always have some great conversations with Steve. He'd come by and talk with my friends and I as if we'd been friends for years. Love that guy and that place.

I actually drove by this after it happened. Saw the lady sitting in there SUV and the driver was handcuffed on the other side of Kimbrough. What I haven’t seen anyone mention is the ambulance that was there with an older man being wheeled around the car on a gurney with a very bloody head. The article mentioned nothing about that.

“Officers arrested the driver after a short struggle. They say the suspect suffered minor injuries in the crash.”

Yeah nobody was injured in that crash

It's no worse than Rib Crib, and at least Crosstown is local.

Don't patronize this place out of pity there bbq is straight up terrible and deserves to go outta business.
