I live at Westwood. I’m in a two bedroom place that is $707 right now. Electric is separate but usually is about $60 a month for me. So slightly above $750 but not by much if that’s okay.

Ugh, I wish! I lived in KC during college and tried Ethiopian food; I adored it. But then I moved back here and we don’t really have that. At least the Indian places here in Springfield I enjoyed better than KC. Zayka and Taj Mahal hold a place in my heart.

If you are on Facebook look for the group 417 German Autostil. There are a few locals on there that have a proper VAGCOM.

Below is the full text from The Connecting Grounds Facebook page about this critical need in our community next week. If you aren’t comfortable filling out the form here, you can look them up on Facebook to see how to get involved with either TCG or other agencies in town. There are unsheltered people, including little ones, who are living on the streets or in cars and will not survive this weather crisis if we don’t get enough volunteers to open up more shelters. ————————

“Please share this critical call for volunteers from our TCG Outreach Volunteers group:

As we look ahead to the forecast for the next week, there is a life-threatening drop in temperatures headed our way! I know it is Christmas week, and it is hard enough to staff our current shelters to open for current services. However, we will need to find creative ways to open more capacity these days to save lives.

As we have done in the past, massive hoteling is not an option this year as many more rooms are being used as weekly rentals for individuals and families. There is not enough volume of open rooms to meet the needs.

Many people are working on solutions for additional shelter spaces and expanded daytime options to protect the lives of our neighbors. Still, the most critical factor is going to be willing volunteers!

I am putting this sign-up sheet out BEFORE WE HAVE A FULL PLAN because our plan(s) will largely depend on how many people are willing to help.

Please help in any capacity between December 22-December 26; please fill out this form to help shape the crisis response of TCG and many other agencies as we plan ahead. ❤ https://forms.gle/2CSujdchFgTETwPW7

This is a brutal and real reminder that Homelessness does not take a holiday.”

Those old VagCom units were amazing. Older tech, but still somewhat relevant. There is a software company now called ThinkDiag that does everything for your car via a phone app. Check it out.

I replaced the ABS module on my wife’s 2004 Passat. It was a fairly high failure part. I found someone online who sold reconditioned electronics.

I have an older VagCom scanner. My wife had a 2004 Passat which I bought it for. If it will work for you I would let you scan you car.

> it just seems like everywhere I go there are people who don't understand just how understaffed and stressed everybody is.

They understand, but it's not their problem your bosses can't hire enough people.

It's not your fault, either, but pressure from the public to fix service levels by hiring more people and paying them enough to keep a full staff on hand is a good thing.

>Entitled people demanding things the place is out of, threatening wait staff over the lettuce shortage, throwing a fit because their Wendy's took an extra 2 minutes to get to their car.

Yeah... that's just throwing a tantrum because their life sucks and they're taking it out on everyone around them. Fuck that noise.

I work at a local hospital and it has even spread to us. Not just patients but their family members as well. It is frustrating and upsetting we are all just doing the best we can with the staffing and management we have and I wish more people would understand that.

There's an actual theory that they call "The American Idol Effect" where everyone was told that their opinion was important/mattered and to vote for things, like reality shows, and that started this current social pattern
