If its not Task based AI... what other kind of AI will there be?
Task based AI cater to human needs. To make human daily living easier
Even made up droids from movies like Interstellar are task based mainly. It is not going to override a human command. Only suggest/per calculation

Very true. However, weak AI is more about task automation and less about replacing human minds. Large segments of transportation will be replaced by weak AI. I think task AI will replace many jobs and augment many others.

Must be a risk to the rich too then.

This is why I’m glad established auto makers are building EVs. They are dealing with this problem early in the process.

Elon Musk is working with fascists. See the photos of him sitting with Rupert Murdoch (Fox News owner and responsible for Hannity and Tucker Carlson and really Trump/MAGA) and then at the World Cup with fascist and Trump family (Jared Kushner).
Anyone buying the illusion that this guy isn't supporting fascists, isn't paying attention. It's not a coincidence he shut off Ukraine's use of his Starlink on the eve a bigger uptick in Russian military activity.

Wait you're telling me there's ev batteries that you can leave out for 24 hours or more at below freezing temps and it keeps the battery above freezing so it's not degraded? Any source on that because I've never heard of such a thing and I'd have to ask where the energy to heat the battery comes from, is it just actively discharging to maintain a set temp, and it'd be dead if you left it out in the cold for a week or something?

No. It is still just task based AI.

Weak AI is good enough to replace a whole lot of workers. It's not like most workers really think hard at their jobs.

AI makes it easier for them to do that. The rich own the AI which will eventually replace millions of jobs.

Consider? Right to repair gets "considered"?
I'd bet these states put more thought into restricting abortions and women's reproductive rights than they will on "Right to Repair".
The fact they're "considering" it is a slap in the face to every farmer in their state. These farmers deserve a lawmaker that WILL make Right to Repair a reality in their state. Not more limp-wristed "consideration" while those same lawmakers lining their pockets from Big Tech and Corporate Ag manufacturers.

It isn't strong, it isn't AI, and it isn't self-driving.
So no.

The list of what Musk doesn't understand is too long for the internet to contain it.

God forbid people fix their machines, but if a foreign power who has gathered all historic data of the American heartlands fields/crops wanted to launch a ransom attack
I haven’t followed up to hear if the vulnerabilities were corrected but they sure seemed to not give a shit when it was presented to them over the past 2 years.

So a reason why this is important is because Tesla, at least in the Northeast US, has agreements with a bunch of places that manage rest areas on major highways to be the only EV charger provider at the rest area. Which means people without Teslas have to get off the highway to charge. It's annoying, exclusionary, and kind of a dick move.

Thats why newer EV-s have liquid cooled/heated battery packs which maintain a safe temperature for the pack even when not driving.

Personal experience from a Leaf at -30C the winter before last :D That had accumulated enough heat in it from the previous days ride that it never got to 0C.
That specific car did not have liquid cooling but it did have electric heating yeah.
Sources are many, google it.

But yeah, if you leave the car unplugged for an extended period in winter (like weeks) then it will drain from maintaining the safe temperature and then there might be damage. Which is why for taking care of your car you leave it plugged in for such situations.
